CURRENT MISSION

Create heART:

I’m RoseRosaRuu, a multi-dimensional, multi-media performance artist, writer, creator and healer. I have a project called Create heART: an intergalactic, collaborative, experiential, multi-media full body sensory experience in a bag that we create together and share with strangers. Each bag is based on a monthly theme, and has as its basis an adult storybook that I’ve created. It includes a soundtrack chosen by a musician. It is meant to engage all the senses, so includes visual art, music, story, something to eat or drink, something with aroma and a component of play.

ABOUT ME

One of the most common question in the US is, "What do you do?" So I'll just get that out of the way now:

I decided to call all the time "happy fun time." Some of my happy fun time I actually get paid for, (that's what many people call "work") and the rest of my happy fun time I have for free.

Some of the things I do during my "happy fun time":

Smiling a lot
Random dancing, singing, spinning around, jumping up and down, skipping, waving my arms up and down and crying, "I am a BIRD! I am an ANGEL!"
Sitting quietly in the grass, under a tree
talking to "strangers" and maybe giving them a present: a little note, a piece of candy, a sticker, part of whatever I'm eating, a hug, or just a simple, sincere thank you for however they've improved my life (Example: to the waiter at a restaurant I've appreciated: "Thank you for your excellent service." To the person driving the bus I'm going to ride, "Thanks for picking me up, thanks for the safe ride...")
Creative expression including everything listed above, as well as writing, filmmaking, photography, cooking...
Listening to music, especially live music
Learning interesting things
Riding my bicycle
Asking questions, and listening to the answer
Discovering new ways to be nice to other people, myself, or the planet! (if you have any great ideas please share!)

PHILOSOPHY

The only person that I have any control over is myself, so I try to continue to be a person that I want to hang out with. I am here to learn and grow and change and I love being challenged.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I'm interested in meeting fellow travelers. I also need fellow collaborators for my intergalactic arts/healing movement that I'm igniting. Care to join?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've stared into the crater of a volcano.

This question asks "one amazing thing you've seen or done in your lifetime." It's an interesting limitation. I'm finding the amazing in every day, each moment, by paying attention. A couple of days ago I was running in the rain. I looked up and saw this enormous rainbow...I stopped, sat on some steps, cradled my chin in my hands, arms resting on my thighs, and appreciated it. When I saw people walking by, lost in their own world, I jostled them a bit..."Did you see the RAINBOW?" I asked, pointing to to sky...

Sharing the beauty and pleasure of something so simple and so divine with a stranger...now that's AMAZING.

I can tell you what I've learned about life from living it. I can tell you what it's like to be sleepwalking for a long time and then be jostled out of it and back into the world. I'm fluent in Spanish. I love writing letters, and giving presents. Being presence.
