I am a very curious and outgoing person. I am inclined to always say yes to any new experience, whether is be as simple as food, or accepting an offer to travel somewhere with a stranger. I always look for the more unusual things in life, which includes people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people, whether it be when I am travelling and I can learn something new and see some interesting things and make friends along the way. Or where I can I would love to show people around and provide them with new experiences. People enrich our lives, and having so many friends from so many different places has certainly made my life more special, and broadened my mind.

Interests

I love to socialise with people in any setting, small dark bar with strange and wonderful cocktails, or large dusty coffee shop full of novels and the smell of roasting beans. I am always willing and usually able to talk to new people I meet.
I am an avid reader, you could say I have a slight book problem, I also love talking about and swapping books with people. I have been a keen runner for many years, preferring the beautiful vista's of nature as a backdrop over a sweaty gym. Recently I have taken up yoga which I am enjoying immensely. Cooking is a big passion of mine, and I am always looking for new ways to cook.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I truly believe I was born in the wrong decade. I should have been a teenager in the 60's/70's when I could enjoy, and see live bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Blue Oyster Cult, Genesis, King Crimson (the list goes on). However I am also a fan of the grunge movement with bands like Alice in Chains and Mother Love Bone, as well as the more alternative music like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails etc. I am very open-minded when it comes to music and have a particular penchant for folk music around the world.
As for books and film, the genre I appreciate most is sci-fi and fantasy, and dystopia. The likes of Philip K Dick and Issac Assimov are my sci-fi interests while Raymond E Feist and James Clemens write fantasy. And of course Jack London for dystopia.

Hitchhiked around Ireland with my best friend, which included a ride from the police (friendly buggers).

I just wish to enjoy the company of others and learn and share in their culture, interests and thoughts, and this is all I want to give to someone else. Along with a little joy and a sprinkle of adventure.
