Hey!!

My name is Roshni, I'm an easy-going child of beautiful Mama Earth, and I've been around the sun 25 times so far! 😊🌅 I love meeting new people, deep conversations, sharing travel stories, being surrounded by nature and learning about this amazing world that we live in 💚🌍💙

It was during my second year of uni that my passion of travel and love of Mama Earth began to grow more. After graduating in 2015 and working for nearly 3 and a half years (with some travels and workaways in between!) I finally took the leap, believed in myself and went on an amazing and life-changing 6 month solo trip to SE Asia in November 2018, with just my tent and a few clothes and sleeping bag, which I somehow managed to fit in a 30l rucksack!!

Travelling has made me realise that it's my dream live a sustainable, self-sufficient life, and make a positive difference and tread gently on this Earth that we have 💗 I'm always being inspired by other beautiful people who also live in peace and kindness. I love experiencing other cultures working hard and having fun!

Ps. I've been sleeping on the floor for the last 3 years (it helped my back so much!) so no worries if you don't have a spare bed! 🙏🙏

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To make new friends and learn about different cultures, and not the touristy way but from the locals who live there!! What better way to be able to truly experience a place :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken the leap 💗 I wrote a little poem last month about my first solo six month trip!! Hope you enjoy 🙏💗

So it's exactly six months to the day
Since I left England and came to stay
In South East Asia,
Where my heart felt called
So I left all I knew, I left the four walls
Of security, of familiarity, of my comfort zone
And in the last few months I discovered
That the whole world is my home
Doing exactly what scares me
is what makes me realise
That it's beyond our boundaries
that the growth lies 🙏
Because go past what you think is possible
and there you will find
That the fear was only real because
we believed it in our minds!
So when we decide to face that fear
And put out trust in existence
Our confidence begins to grow
And we feel the difference
So that next time we're faced
With something that we dread
Rather than a problem,
It's a new challenge instead
There are always two ways of looking at things
The bird can sit on the branch
Not because of her faith its strength,
But rather the faith in her own two wings 🕊🙏
When we have the courage to go beyond
What we thought we could do
When we believe in ourselves
Our dreams really can come true ❤
Five years ago I never knew
I'd be travelling the world 🌏
But when we take the leap
Miracles can unfirl 💗✨

As a native English speaker who loves talking to people, I can definitely help people with learning and practising both written and spoken English. I love making food and am a whizz in the kitchen!! I also tidy up after myself and am pretty good at any household stuff :)
