About Me

Essentially I'm just a Cornish country bumpkin looking for an adventure!

Having grown up in Cornwall, I love the outdoors and the sea/water. However, I have lived for 5 years in London, first doing a degree then working as a web developer. I absolutely love Art, both contemporary and old stuff.

I'm a keen cook and love to bake. My style is quite haphazard, so it doesn't always work out well, nor does it look all that pretty - but generally tastes delicious! (I make a mean lemon drizzle cake).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people. Back at home we (my flatmates and I) tried to keep an open house as possible, as sharing your space is always so rewarding. From excellent stories, amazing company there always something new to be shared. Especially new types of food and recipes.

Interests

Art, history, outdoors, books, travel, cooking, Cornwall... and anything else that seems interesting really. It's difficult to define all the things in one small box.

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter, obviously!
Recent books I've enjoyed,

Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follet)
The Luminaries (Eleanor Catton - though I haven't finished it yet!)
Terry Prachett discworld
Phillpa Gregory and other trashy historical fiction ;)

Generally, love fantasy and historical stuff, and anything about art
Always good to hear book recommendations

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Kilimanjaro once, that was pretty fun.

However more impressive I think was a new way of frying eggs inside bagels.
I call it the eggy-bagel-basket-thing-of-joy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can knit and crochet pretty well (spent 1.5 years working for a knitting company) so always happy to give people a hand with their projects.

Alternatively, I am also a web developer, and have done a lot of teaching in the past. If you have a website/blog you are having issues with, I am more that happy to give you a hand (especially if there's good tea to hand ;) )

What I Can Share with Hosts

Is this not the same as the box above?

Anyhoo, goes without mentioning, knitting tips, art ramblings, cooking and programming tuition.

And maybe a lemon drizzle cake ;)
