About Me

I am new to the world of travelling and have grown up in a little country town in the South of England where I have known the same neighbours for 18 years, I think it's time to hear some new stories for a change. I have got a place at the Royal conservatoire of Scotland for contemporary performance practice, in which is a course about creating art to help understand the world we live in better, but first I need to see more of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel but I am a solo traveler and so it can get a little lonely, I want to meet new people and share our stories and experiences.

Interests

I've finished studying music, theatre and English literature and language and am ready to explore every aspect of the world I possibly can! I love hiking and finding hidden views and places (especially anywhere involving waterfalls). I also love the night life of quirky bars, live music and any sort of street art of performance. I'm ready to see and learn about different cultures and parts of the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

Bit of and old soul when it comes to music, but music just for me to relax and think to is anything folk or jazz, Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground, Simon and Garfunkel, Melanie Safka, Nina Simones and Tracy Chapmans and Joan Armatradings voices make my whole mind shine.
I had my own band which was three part harmony, so any sort of experiential music, mixing sounds and stories together. Really any music reaches out to me, I trained classically for 8 years so anything from opera to small dusky pubs with drunken singer songwriters fits me well. But there must always be room for some dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have just hiked around Costa Rica's jungles and stayed with many families along the way, waking up in caves with thunderstorms overhead and swimming in the waterfalls. I leave for the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador next week to stay with a local family and their neighbours.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing stories and laughter.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to help out in anyway, helping with English or teaching music, singing being my speciality. I would be more than happy to cook for anyone who hosts me, or even spend some time just meeting a new person or people and exploring a new place.
