About Me

I'm 22 and Irish, studied languages and have a passion fior French that led me to work in France for the last while.

Strangely enough 'm a sheperdhess (think that's how we say it in English) in the French Alps for the last few years, think 4 sheepdogs, over a 1000 sheep and usually 2 chickens!

I'm starting my dream Masters in translation and Interpreting this September in Swansea.

I love learning about new cultures, mixing with the locals, learning about agfricultural systems that differ everywhere I go and trying to communicate with locals in their native language, perhaps I'll try and learn a bit of Welsh!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Languages are my passion to say the least, even the smallest strangest ones that few people know. Trying to avoid hostels, as you can only ever get an overview of the place.

Interests

Used to be an avid athlete, still enjoy a kick around but my new love is climbing, rock faces, frozen waterfall climbing or bouldering, you name it I'm probably interested.
I'm a book person, not a smartphone person!

Music, Movies, and Books

Fred Vargas, Harry Potter, Philip Pullman, all books really..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been to Iguazú, went up to 4107m of altitude in the Andes.
Shepherded 2200 sheep in the Alps, that's a hell of a lot of sheep! Still haven't come across the wolves, but it's probably better off when you have a tasty flock of mutton!

Teach, Learn, Share

Taught English for five months in Argentina. Want to know what a Leprechaun is?
I've come arounf full circle and eventually would like my own little farm, like my parents have in Ireland, allthough probably in France. I want to learn lots, from hardcore politics, to philosophy, to agriculture. I can share my various experiences and hopefully we'll have loads to talk about and reflect upon.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories and the craic! ( Irish word for fun)

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, England, France, Paraguay, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, France, Germany, Ireland
