About Me
Hello! I'm an American-Nepali student studying abroad in Barcelona. I'm looking to meet cool and like-minded people who share a common interest of adventure and meeting new people. I’m a very laidback person with a general love for nature, music (I play the ukulele and saxophone!), photography, yoga, and climbing. I'm studying design and user experience, but I have a general interest in pretty much everything. I'm open-minded, fun, and love meeting new people of different backgrounds and cultures!
If you’re ever passing by the Bloomington area in the USA, I will happily host you. Just let me know a few days in advance. I'm a student, so life gets busy out here.
Sometimes I am on-again off-again on this app--and I'm on a limited amount of conversation ability because I didn't pay the $60 verification fee. So if for whatever reason you can’t reach me here, try to connect with my Instagram on @thisberosie !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a big advocate of solo travel. It's a way of life that only a few people are brave enough to do--to let go of the security of company, put your trust in your surrounding environment, and truly go with the flow! Couchsurfing falls under that umbrella of discomfort and self-discovery--you're quite literally trusting your travels with a stranger. Although there's a few downfalls to this way of life, there's a great beauty to the unknown mystery of it all. In the end, I've learned everything always works itself out in one way or another, and none of it outweighs the benefits: solo travel is the most rewarding feeling to have the freedom to carve your own adventure like this.
I've gotten to meet some of the most incredible people on this app, and also some of the worst. If we vibe well, then we vibe well and see where it goes. But if you have certain expectations from the start just because you're hosting a woman... well then, it's better to just reject my request!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a nerd about Wes Anderson films. I'm also generally love lighthearted, fun comedies — just like my own life, I suppose!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've deep water soloed in Mallorca -- some of the coolest experiences ever.
Also: my entire family is from Nepal, so I have full Himalayan blood in me. That means I'm tiny, yes, but also quite mighty.
Teach, Learn, Share
Live in the present moment.
I'm still working on this one. When I'm climbing, I can only do it well if I focus on my moves and not think about the "what if I fall?" -- to teach and learn, I'd say, is to stop thinking about the what if's and other hypotheticals, and start living out your what if's. You regret the shots you don't take!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good stories, good food, and a very whimsical sense of humor. Can't wait to meet you! :)
