About Me

On a mission to see what the world has to offer, try new things, engage in foreign cultures and make new friends. Live in the moment and enjoy each day as it comes.

Laid-back, relaxed, uncomplicated, simple, spontaneos, open, adventorous, curious, hopeful, optimistic are just some words that come to mind to describe us :)

A love for busy markets, sunrises, everything in nature, sea water and tan skin, yoga, going on a hike, chocolate and generally everything food, trying new things and experimenting in the kitchen. Living a healthy and sustainable life-style, being considerate of all beings. I'm very much a peoples person and genuinelly enjoy meeting new friends, learning about different cultures, being in foreign places, trying new things and being out of my compfort zone. I have far too many interests to list but enjoy reading up on pretty much any topic, social issues especially, I love being outdoors and active, photography etc etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got my wanderlust from my parents who travelled so much when they were younger and even with my sisters and I, we lived in a few countries and experienced different cultures. My parents let us grow up around different people from foreign cultures, kind of like couchsurfing, I loved it.

After sleeping in our Van "Adam" (there is a great story behind the name), staying with some great people on Airbnb, in a hostel, wwoofing in NZ and doing housesitting for a couple and their gorgeous little labrador pup we wanted to add another experience to our list. Meet some like-minded people and hopefully make some new friends :) Plus, we love the idea behind couchsurfing! We first heard of couchsurfing when one of our friends tried it and only had great things to say.

We want to engage in conversations about everything and anything in the English language, which is a bit more difficult in hostels since there are so many German travellers like us. And let's be honest, we left Germamy to get away from Germans. :D We would love to meet someone who has their own favourite place to show us.. maybe off the beaten track.

Interests

We are both most interested in discovering new places and meeting new people, making new friends, expanding our knowledge and learning by doing. We like to spend time outdoors and want to be active, go on a hike, always on the lookout for a beautiful scenery that captures our attention. I love warm weather and spending a day at the beach and Dominik would prefer skiing in the snow any time. Our interests do vary quite a bit. For example I'm not even half the football (or in general sports ) fan my boyfriend is and we can rarely decide on a movie we both like to watch.

Social and political change is something we are interested in. Dominik is the most caring and compassionate person I've ever met. We are also both vegan.

Music, Movies, and Books

We're not super picky with music, what we listen to most though is our Fifa playlist.
We would both rather watch documentaries than movies. So many amazing documentaries that can teach me. He loves series, I really don't - another difference.
We both don't read a lot, but I love journaling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This would have to be when we decided to do the Tongariro crossing completely spontaneously and it was amazing!

Deciding to live at the other end of the world in a new family when I was 15 was the most rewarding decision in my life so far.

First time on a motorbike on the crazy Indonesian roads.. Adrenalin pure.

Teach, Learn, Share

We would love to cook a delicious, nourishing, healthy vegan meal for you!! or some dessert.. Or both :)
