PHILOSOPHY

I live to have fun and enjoy life, and not focus on the future too much. Cos if you think ahead all the time, you don't end up making the most of now, and time has passed you by. I'm a bit of a romantic too, and love and passion is an important part of life to me. Friends and family are everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I host, couchsurfers hang out with me and my friends, in doing so I guess I spread the word and show that people who couchsurf aren't weirdos.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't officially couchsurfed yet, but spent a week with a family in Tuscany through Helpx.net, had an amazing time.
I've hosted some couchies in wellington and made some great friends, seeing them coming and doing their thing has inspired me to pack up my stuff and take off on a new adventure!

Interests

Red wine by the fire in the winter, G&T's and bare feet in the the summer, hanging out and doing nothing with my favourite people, stargazing, jamming to Paul Simon, flowery dresses, music in the dark, ICECREAM, the ocean, tea parties, biking downhill, singing, my beautiful dog Juno, talking smack about the universe, taking photographs, gig-going, breakfast, dreaming.

Music, Movies, and Books

My ultimate festival would include Beirut, Sigur Ros, Elliot Smith (resurrected)the New Pornographers, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Velvet Underground, Django Reinhardt, A-Ha (playing take on me, only) Belle & Sebastian, and pinkerton-era Weezer. Easy. Why has no-one done this already? I love a whole heap of music, if I stay on your couch or vice-versa I'll play you some! Just read The Castle in the Pyrenees by Jostein Gaarder, loved it. I used to read all the time, but uni knocked it out of me. Probably my favourite all time books are His Dark Materials, the trilogy by Philip Pullman. I also love the sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's tough..lots of things. I'll have to come back to that one. being an auntie is pretty amazing. Seeing brilliant live jazz in a tiny underground bar in New York was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Um, I give pretty good shoulder massages, so I've been told. I can play the keyboard a bit.And melodica and harmonica, all shoddily. I'll bake you some mean scones, sing in your shower, and show you how to shoot on an SLR camera...
