About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Over this year I hope to see as many interesting places and meet as many interesting people as possible
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone! I'm a university student from Sydney, Australia studying a bachelor of international studies and law. I love learning about other cultures and meeting people from around the world. For me couchsurfing is about meeting people from other places, seeing how they live and hopefully getting a genuine idea of how another city functions. Over 2014 I will be travelling around North America and Europe!
PHILOSOPHY
When i was a kid my dad would tell me about all the places he visited and all the crazy things he did. I always thought it was amazing that one person could have so many stories. When I'm older i want to be like that. I want to be the parent, aunt, family friend or grandmother that's always telling stories and making other people want to see the world.
"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endless change horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Over 2014 I'm hoping to participate by staying with as many locals as possible. Once I head back to Sydney in 2015 my couch will be open to anyone.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None. I have heard great things about couchsurfing through friends though. One friend has told me that couchsurfing is the best way to meet people in other cities and will give me a true insight into the soul of that city. That is exactly what I'm hoping to get out of my travels!
Interests
I have a lot of different passions. I love to read and almost always have my kindle in my handbag. I also love animals and one of the hardest things about moving overseas has been leaving my dogs behind. Since leaving home I have also developed a love for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. To be honest, my interest in cooking has probably sprung from my love of food. I will eat anything!! Most of all, I love to meet new people. I will spend parts of 2014 travelling alone and I can't wait to make new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't discriminate when it comes to music. As long as it makes me want to dance or sing along then I like it! I honestly can't think of a single genre that I don't like at least one song from.
I LOVE to read! My favourite books include (but definitely aren't limited to) the book thief, shadow of the wind, gone with the wind, the fault in our stars, great expectations, anything by Patricia Cornwell, to kill a mockingbird, a fortunate life, the poisonwood bible and the blind assassin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have participated in a number of exchange programs through university. Currently I am studying at the University of Calgary in Canada but in the past I took a french course at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The most incredible thing I have done is volunteer in Peru. I spent four weeks in a remote community outside Cuzco. It was the most enlightening, challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Aussie slang, cook a pavlova (if you don't know what that is, google it, it might just be your new favourite dessert) and go into great depth about the wonders of vegemite. I love to learn and have been told i am a great listener. Anyone who can broaden my understanding of the world is worth chatting with.
