About Me

I am a woman, a performance artist and recently an MFA in Creative Practice graduate from the Transart Institute (2014), among my other selves. My latest Outlandia experimentation combines performative elements that create textual geographies of visited spaces and places. I put my human body in the limits of writing, walking, playing and canoeing around the Rafti island in the Aegean sea in the company of ringing my encouraging bell. My experiences are combined in short stories of wanderings, encounters with strangers and physical explorations, together with photography and video, to forge the space of Outlandia, and my journeys to its linkages of other places.
I was born in the city of Lovech (Bulgaria), then lived in Sliven, Pravetz and Sofia and I am still immigrating twelve years to Greece, even though I do not believe in nations borders, I do not underestimate the power of border patrols with machine guns, land ownership and unregulated public places. No animals or humans were harmed in any of my works. I also hold a BA in Communications from The American College of Greece a minor in Visual Arts from The School of Fine and Performing arts (SFPA) and the Vision Artist Award initiated for me by the Visual Arts and the History of Art Societies. I participated in the three consecutive Photography as Performance exhibits at the Athens Photo Festival 2011-2013 one of which I curated. I have shown works and participated in venues and group projects that include Kafeneon Pop Art Project, ACG Art Gallery Center for the Arts, ART-ATHINA International Art Fair 2010, 2013, the 2nd Athens Biennial HEAVEN 2009, EMST State Museum of Contemporary Art in Greece, Bozar in Belgium, among others, however, most of my current work is open air, in more remote areas and private setting -between bodies talking. Simultaneously, I organizes my own non-gallery acts and outdoors performances -individually and in co-creative groups. I collaborate with the Guerrilla Optimists and with Jennifer Nelson as of 2007 in the projects Despair Chronicles, Intimate Expansions, Hymn to Freedom, and in Public Dreaming (2014).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting people of all classes and learning about where they come from philosophically, spiritually, culturally and artistically. Couchsurfing could be a way to help out someone in transit or someone on his creative journey by offering the modest shelter of my living room. Perhaps I can also help you navigate in the city and have a quick beer with you. I do have maps of the city for all of you! I am currently living in Trondheim, Norway, and accept guests in both Athens and Trondheim.

Interests

i love wiring and reading so don't get surprised if you find me in the same position for 18 hours or more. I do love, however, movement and outdoor activities like walking, sleeping, swimming and canoeing. My main interest is exploratory and experimental approaches in life, through performance art, sculpture, conceptual art- you name it. ..
I love food and cooking but most of all i enjoy a good talk and a beer. I do have a black cat named Karl Max, with one single white mustache. I can observe a leaf of a plant for a really long time
