About Me

I'm a 25 year old former journalist from England who has decided to take the leap and go solo travelling for a year.

I've just travelled over three months in Australia and am now exploring what New Zealand has to offer over the course of two months on the north and south island.

My cousin recently introduced me to this app at a family wedding after having lots of success hosting and being hosted when travelling himself in the past.

Although i'm yet to have any references, I can assure you that i'm a very easy-going and laidback traveller.

I'm predominately staying in hostels throughout my trip where I intend to meet like-minded backpackers. However, on occasion I'd love the opportunity to meet some locals who could perhaps educate me a little bit on the culture and give some gleaming recommendations.

In return for being hosted at the very least I would like the opportunity to cook or clean around the property. Happy to run any other chores too so that I can give something in return.

I have a huge passion for music and socialising so would happily find a local bar with a musician playing and get to know my hosts and create a friendship.

Any questions, feel free to fire them my way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and be able to meet new people in different countries and cultures and this seemed the perfect opportunity to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Huge passion for music, particularly live

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Cuba for two weeks and was struck by how happy everyone was despite having next to nothing in material value. It was a real eye opener that happiness shouldn't come from materialistic things and that life can be simple and happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to host people in return upon return to the UK

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to educate about life back in England. I've worked in journalism for several years, as a bartender, and in radio so happy to share that knowledge too. Happy to cook and help around the place too in exchange for accomodation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Wales
