About Me
Updated: 30-Mar-19. Enthusiast for good friends, food, drinks, and experiences.
Note: I get a lot of requests, so please stand-out and tell me a little bit about WHY you’d like to surf with me. Much more likely to accept your response with this. ☺️
RYE/ROTEX: Front of the line! Looking forward to having some good food, drinks, and conversations. Curious to learn about your travels and experiences, and if you can teach me to cook something traditional from your country I'll be forever grateful!
Greetings world...
After doing a one-year Rotary exchange to Brazil, the travel bug kicked in. Soon after returning home, I embarked on a four-month backpacking tour throughout Europe. After returning to the States, I worked/lived in Washington D.C. for some time, bartended on a beach for a while, then finally came to my senses and went back to school. Fast forward to 2019, and I'm now living and working in Amsterdam.
I am a very relaxed, fun-loving person. Some days I never know where I will end up, who I will meet, what I will do. The joy of life is the journey itself, and I sure as hell plan on that journey being as chaotic, crazy, adventure filled, love filled, friend filled...Life filled...as it possibly can be.
"Live the Life you Love. Love the Life you Live."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I've never had as good of an experience as when I spend some time with a couch surfer. Always meet exciting people, have great conversations, and share lifelong memories. I have had some amazing times surfing, and made countless lifelong friends. Hell, I once had a host pierce my ears!
I am new to hosting, since I finally have an apartment to myself. I like to host other friendly travelers to share in their experiences, hear their stories, and learn more about the world through their experiences. I believe this is one of the ways we can change the world: by meeting different people with different opinions and perspectives, sharing ideas and creating new ones. One of the great joys in life.
Interests
My interests are traveling, trying new things, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and languages. I love to try new foods and drinks, and especially learning to cook new recipes. I also enjoy ice hockey, movies, outdoors adventures, water & snow sports, going out, music festivals, and all around good times.
Simply put: Enjoying good times with good friends (and making new ones).
Also an amateur DJ/music producers, mostly as a hobby. So don't get your hopes up to hear something great. :D

Music, Movies, and Books
This list would be too long if I wrote it all out.
I enjoy books on many subjects ranging from business to history to philosophy, and everything in-between. As long as it will teach me something new. Next book (Mar-2019) is Life 3.0.
Music: Trance, House, Techno, Pop, and a little bit of everything else. My best friend and I are lifetime Armin fans, so if you share in that we will get along just fine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Caught a piranha on the Amazon River. I have pics to prove it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help with English anytime, am always up to learn something new, and have a million stories/pictures I could share.
My favorite thing is to get to know the people I'm surfing with or that are surfing with me, to get to know some of their culture, views, beliefs, etc. I'm very open, and enjoy getting to know others as well.
I am rather busy with work, so most days you will be on your own. But I am always looking forward to a nice dinner and/or some drinks in the evening, to share stories & experience, have a nice laugh, and broaden our horizons.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A positive attitude, good conversations, and lots of laughter. Hopefully we can share some recipes and wine together.
I am open to all types of surfers, but as Amsterdam is a popular destination I would ask that you find something we have in common before requesting to stay. This makes it more likely for me to notice your request.
*Note to HOSTS: I don't get to travel and Surf as often as I'd like, so it's not worth it for me to pay to verify my identity. However, as safety and trust are key to the CS community I'd be more than happy to provide additional proof of identity (such as a copy of my passport). Just ask
*Note to SURFERS: Please make sure to read the "My Home" section prior to contacting me.
