ABOUT ME

Easygoing with a positive outlook on the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was an active host during my time in Nagano (Japan). In August 2013, I set off on a long distance cycling trip from Japan. I cycled across some islands of Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, West Timor, Sulawesi) reaching places lost in time. I crossed by land to East Timor and then back to Indonesia for my last leg, before continuing onto mainland SE Asia.

At the beginning of December 2014, I left Singapore and cycled across Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, southern Laos, Vietnam and crossed the border to China. I cycled in Yunnan for two months until near the Tibetan border before looping back to northern Laos and northern Thailand. Then, I crossed into Myanmar/Burma and finally made it to the Indian border. From India, I crossed to Pakistan and continued to Central Asia and to Azerbaijan across the Caspian Sea. I cycled across Iran for two months and took a ferry to the UAE. I am currently cycling in Oman.

I sometimes like using hospitality communities like Couchsurfing to get a better or different glimpse of the country I am cycling in, connecting with people, discovering projects and interesting initiatives to inspire me. And also because it is just as nice to have a break from the saddle routine, you never know what kind of people you are going to meet, and it makes it really exciting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to be an active host in Nagano (Japan) during my time there. I had really wonderful guests. My experience, both surfing, and hosting, has been great so far. I really love to experience how people connect sometimes in a very short time.

Teach, Learn, Share

For the most part, I am a student of everything and a master at nothing. Well, maybe I am becoming a master in problem solving, since life on the road is always about fixing things, finding solutions, and juggling with options.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share stories, a meal, a conversation, a good laugh, some riddles, a chocolate ice cream, a portrait drawing session, a silence...I can share my journey with you and you can be part of it.
