About Me

Sorry - COVID has made it unsafe/unwise to host. I really hope you consider NOT traveling and staying in stranger's homes at all right now.

HOSTING

Make sure your request includes specific dates and why we'd be a good fit. Especially welcoming folks from where I've been hosted: Denmark, Netherlands, Greece, the Baltic States and Mexico.

CURRENT MISSION

Save the World

ABOUT ME

For the past fifteen years I've been running environmental campaigns across the US. I'm based in Boston now enjoying the history, the music, the parks and helping communities facing pollution threats with Toxics Action Center. A few years ago I surfed Europe with my partner Chris, who was living in Belgium for the year.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't just sit there and watch tv when you know that the world is messed up and you can do something about that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't count how many people I've hosted now! I've surfed my way through Virginia, Mexico and Europe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The most couch surfing I did was my summer canvassing with Libbs. We lived for a while in a tent in someone's yard on the cape, slept in several different Asian households in NJ and then moved on to a steady couch in Northeast DC.

Music, Movies, and Books

My first love is jazz. But I enjoy a good funk or blues band, classical and flamenco too. I read voraciously, though most recently have been fighting to keep up with the weekly New Yorker. I have a library card and use it all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stumbled into a local's food fest in the valley below Montserrat - and joined the parade.

Teach, Learn, Share

Two lessons I've learned as a host:
Leave a present--a bottle of wine is stellar or even just a picture.
Keep your mess to a minimum. Each day try to stuff it in a corner or under the couch. It makes cohabitation easier.
As a guest:
Take your hosts advice for good restaurants.
Ask early and often for a space.
