Overview
About Me
I have a deep passion for travel, exploration and self-growth, and I'm always seeking to experience other cultures to enrich my own life along with the lives of those who's paths cross with mine. I studied Spanish, philosophy and pre-medicine in my undergraduate, and I have a love for reading, writing and the natural environment. I currently work as an educator at an environmental non-profit located on an island on the Indian River Lagoon in Eastern Florida, and my partner is a super skillful master brewer at a local brewery (I'm not biased, I swear!). I like people who are laid back and don't take life too seriously.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I believe the best way to learn about a new place and culture is through the locals! I'd like to meet locals in the areas where we travel, and I'd be more than happy to grab a drink and help a new friend explore the East Coast of Florida. My boyfriend and I have an extra bedroom, but safety is a priority and I strongly prefer surfers who have CS reviews and are verified. Those wanting to stay in our home must be okay with two sweet, large dogs and a kitty cat!
I lived in Spain and traveled with a Eurail pass throughout Europe, so I'd be happy to give advice to anyone planning on traveling in those areas. I've also spent time in the West Indies and Central America -- let me know if you are traveling that way and would like suggestions/advice.
All the people I have met via CS have been incredible individuals with great personalities and amazing stories. Very generous, fun, interesting, and kind people :o)
Interests
"He was free, free in every way, free to behave like a fool or a machine, free to accept, free to refuse, free to equivocate; to marry, to give up the game, to drag this death weight about with him for years to come. He could do what he liked, no one had the right to advise him, there would be for him no Good or Evil unless he thought them into being." - Jean Paul Sartre

What I Can Share with Hosts
As an environmental educator, I know the local ecosystem very well. The Indian River Lagoon is the most bio-diverse estuary in North America, so this area is a great place to visit and enjoy beautiful nature. I also speak Spanish and I welcome people from all different cultures and backgrounds to visit us.
