About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My wife and I love to travel and meet people. We have hosted students from around the world and are currently hosts for delegates in the International Visitors Corps Program
ABOUT ME
I am inquisitive and interested in understanding numerous perspectives as a means of better understanding my own world. I believe that education is a lifetime endeavor and am constantly re-educating myself through books, online courses, and university webinars. It would be fair to say that I am very well networked in a number of communities and I have come to realize that that is one of my strengths.
PHILOSOPHY
I am not a human being on a spiritual journey
rather
I am a spiritual being on a human journey
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Both my wife and I would like to use this as an alternate means of travel and meeting people. I have found that the best way to understand a culture is to live with its people. Of course... we would love to reciprocate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Neophyte to this website but we have stayed with friends in other countries.
Interests
I love the outdoors: canoeing, snow skiing, white water rafting, camping, SCUBA diving etc. I have flown ultralights and have skydived. DO NOT DARE ME!

Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz, Classical, some Rock, International, and Folk. I am fairly ecclectic when it comes to music. Do I read books? Way too many!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed the Great Wall of China; skied Stubai Glacier in the Alps; learned Arawak in the Amazon Jungle of Guyana; dangled my feet at 2,000 feet in an ultralight only to swoop down to 5 feet and chase wild boar, cattle, and coyotes, and bungy jumped in Queenstown, New Zealand... that's a good start.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am heavily involved in two subjects: sustainable design and communities. I am also keenly interested in working in developing countries. To that end, my wife and I have participated in the World Water Forums in Mexico and Istanbul. I have lectured on the subject here in the States as well as in France, Germany, and Turkey. I am also a charter member of the Rotary Water and Sanitation Action Group and on its Strategic Planning Committee
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully, we can talk about what activities there are in the area and give a little guidance.
