Hello!

My name is Rowan and I am a 19-year-old Canadian with a passion for travelling and language! I love to discover new places and new people, and I am always happy to have discussions to share a bit of my own culture while learning a little about someone else's!

I am currently studying Political Science and World Islamic/Middle Eastern Studies in Montréal, however I took the summer off to spend a few months working and travelling in Europe. I've spent my past few months in France, and now I am ready for one last adventure in Italy before heading home to Canada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people, especially new people from other countries! It is my greatest pleasure to learn something new about another culture while making friends with someone new. I have been fortunate enough to have lived in 3 different countries until this point while travelling to many others, so I know that spending time with a local is the absolute best way to get to know a city.

I would love the opportunity not only to stay as someone's guest, but in return to have a cultural exchange with my host to find a friendship. Maybe one day, I would love to return the favour and host someone in my home in British Columbia or Montreal :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16, I left to live in Germany for 12 months as an exchange student. The experience completely changed my life and opened up my perspective, and since then I have gone on to live in China and now France.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Canadians have a bit of a reputation for being nice people, and well... What can I say - it's true! I would love to share the warmth of the Canadian spirit with someone, while hopefully sharing a few stories and laughs along the way.
