Overview
About Me
I'm a Canadian currently living the bulk of my time in southern Africa (Zambia) since 2013 where I live with my partner. I travel when I can to wherever my budget permits.
I'm a laid back person, open-minded, and pretty easy to get along with so if you have any questions of course I'll help you out. My personality is basically driven by curiosity, a love for all things quirky, and the belief that people are good creatures.
I find many things hilarious.
I'm occasionally witty myself.
I believe in giving what you can, taking what you need and being grateful for what you have.
Right now I work remotely (#blessed, yes) doing boring things online for a really cool boss. While I'm mostly in the same place nowadays, sometimes work and life line up and I get to move around (yay). So if I'm 'work/travelling', I'll go cafe-hopping during the day and then explore in the evenings or during lunch. Good wifi, good coffee and a side pastry (chocolate preferably) will get me through any work day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've met a lot of cool people through CS although I haven't been able to host a lot. I'll promote it whenever I can because I can pretty much guarantee that once someone participates, they'll be pleasantly surprised. The kindness of strangers, I tell you.
I've been hosted and attended a few meetings and gone on outings sporadically over the past few years -- all of which have turned into great times.
Interests
Food things (all)
Water things (swimming, diving, snorkeling).
Land things (hiking, running)
Art things (writing, crafts, reading)
Misc things (dancing, laughing, games - Ticket to Ride? Catan?)
General banter
I'm a big foodie with a fair appetite and 'diverse' palette. I will try any food 3 times and like to 'experiment' with dishes. But if I have guests I can tone that down and probably follow a recipe for their sake (probably)!
I enjoy being in good company and returning the favour. Things like a scenic bevvy along with music and convo are right in my wheelhouse.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to all types of movies, music and books.
I generally stay away from ghost movies (gah). I like a good movie night out/in.
Live music in any venue is also a win.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunrises and sunsets. Its comforting to know that some things stay the same.
Some of my best memories of travel involved me sitting.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ask me anything, and let's skip the fluffy stuff. This is the sharing that I enjoy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I may be able to draw a picture that resembles you.
I can whip up a tasty meal (probably Asian)
