Overview
About Me
Hi I'm Rowena and I'm from Singapore. I am currently an undergraduate psychology major in my senior year at the University at Buffalo. I plan to go to graduate school sometime next year and would love to take small trips to explore new places when I have the time to! :)
Coffee junkie. Lover of the quaint and quintessential. I make a hobby of finding beauty in the ordinary and in dissonance. Intrigued by the enigma of the human mind and its complexities. Voracious reader. I dance on sidewalks (when I think there isn't anyone watching), rock it out on the drums and keyboard, write the odd poem, prose, maybe two. I love nature, science, philosophy, and holding insightful conversations over good food.
Interests
Neuroscience and Psychology. I love research. Would-have-been-marine-biologist in another life. Enjoys dancing, reading, quaint cafes, theme parks. I play the piano/keyboard and the drums. I also love water-related activities like swimming and scuba-diving! I have a weakness for Thai and Japanese food!

Music, Movies, and Books
Love listening to a wide variety of genres. Some include: Bon Iver, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Iron And Wine, Muse, MGMT, My Chemical Romance, Stars, and The Shins. I enjoy ambient/post-rock music from Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Rós. I rock it out to the likes of David Bowie, Deep Purple, The Scorpions and Queen once in awhile :) I also like listening to Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean songs too.
Movies: 500 Days of Summer, Into the Wild, V for Vendetta, The Notebook, Inception (seriously anything by Nolan), Lord of the Rings, the X-Men and Batman series
Books: I love classics like The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, 1984, and Animal Farm by George Orwell, and I enjoy books by Charles Bukowski, Sylvia Plath, J.D. Salinger, Milan Kundera, Oscar Wilde, Vladimir Nabokov, and Henry David Thoreau. I love Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - I believe it can be enjoyed from both a child and an adult's perspective! I also enjoy books from Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, Jeanette Winterson and Neil Gaiman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have scuba-dived in Australia and some off-shore islands in Malaysia and Thailand. I love marine life and I believe our oceans are one of the last frontiers of human exploration. I would love to dive in Hawaii and the Great Barrier Reef sometime in the near future!
Teach, Learn, Share
I make relatively tasty home-cooked Japanese food. I could probably give some good book recommendations and teach you some rad dance moves or how to play the piano/drums if you'd like! :)
I would like to learn your language and get some good food recommendations!
