About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to travel, meet people, see the world and broaden my horizons, learn new languages, reduce my consumption (to counteract my carbon footprint :/ ), to teach and to find out more about the world

ABOUT ME

Little Crazy Irish Girl

For the last few years, I've adopted a minimalist mentality. This, for me, means living with only what I need and what makes me happy. It also means that I have more freedom to travel, explore and spend time and money on experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

Do onto others as you would have done onto you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to pay it forward and, when I eventually settle and find a (relatively) permanent abode, I am more than willing to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with an Austrian guy and have kept in contact with him. First couch surfing experience was a fantastic one - felt as if I'd known him for ages - we ate, drank wine, talked and partied. We had a blast and he made my stay in Salzburg amazing.

I also couchsurfed in Oslo, Gothenburg and Copenhagen in Dec 2014 and in Belgrade and Nis in July 2016. It was great to learn more about these cities through the hosts. Most of my hosts showed me around the city and we spent time eating, drinking and chatting.

In Sept 2016 I also had experience couchsurfing in Muenster. Although I didn't get much time to tour the city (I was attending a conference), I was able to have plenty of chats with my wonderful host Mascha!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life - I take pleasure in the small things as well as the big :)

But if I had to pick one thing *OK, maybe two*, I would probably say complete my PhD (yes, a very boring thing to be proud of!!!) or walk from Embarcadero (San Fran) across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito (10 miles, exhausting, but totally worth it for the views!)
