I am at 27 year old adventurer for Texas taking a few months off between work contracts! I spent the past two years working with small businesses in the Dominican Republic and conducting entrepreneurship trainings among youth and adults. Looking forward to wherever life takes me next but first, a bit of a break and some new places!

Outside of work, I am a dancer (loads of different styles but West Coast Swing and Zouk are my favorites). I am also a rock climber and karaoke enthusiast. I prefer to live life with a flexible attitude and have learned to ‘roll with the punches.’ In a city I love scoping out a nice coffee shop, people watching in the park, and a lively night out dancing with friends. When there’s access to nature I love a day of hiking, swimming in lakes or rivers, and- of course- some climbing.

I’ve done a fair amount of travel before but never done this much solo travel so I’m psyched to meet new people and see what I discover about myself and the people/places who host me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people to people connections and really look forward to seeing a place through the eyes of those who live and work there. Tourist traps are fun but the real flavor of a city takes time to discover (or some I side advice). I hope couchsurfing will offer that!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love fantasy fiction and am current wild about Brandon Sanderson’s writing. Have also read the current Game of Thrones books and hope the series is finished before George RR Martin or I die.

Movies: I have a soft spot for 80’s movies and bad dance movies. Dirty Dancing is in my top five for sure.

Music: my tastes are quite all over the place but I often listen to alt and punk rock. I also like reggaeton and hip-hop. Some of my favorite artists to listen to right now are Chris Stapleton, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Jessie Reyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A bit after the pandemic, I began working for a therapeutic rehabilitation center for girls coming out of sex trafficking. It was by far the hardest job I ever hope to have in my life but it was also potentially the most rewarding. Looking at the day to day grind of empowering young women how to truly take back control of their lives and shed the trauma of their pasts, it doesn’t seem like any progress is made. However, when I reflect back on my time in that field, I see how much those girls grew and healed and learned. I don’t take credit for any of their hard work but I do hope that I contributed to creating a space where they felt safe enough to face their hurts and start the difficult process of healing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dance lessons, karaoke hype-squad, and a listening ear. You want adventure? I am down for most anything that won’t put me in prison. You want nature? Let’s go out and hike or climb or swim in whatever our current location has to offer! Wanting to dial it back and enjoy some conversation?
