Hey guys! Roxanne (Canada) and Matteo (USA) here :)

We are a friendly, easy going and enthusiastic couple who love meeting new people and getting out of our comfort zone! We are always searching for new adventures and love to really get immersed in the countries that we visit.

We have been on the road for over 2 years now and have decided to call Australia home for a little while. We are always thinking about new exciting projects and the upcoming ones are hiking in the Himalayas and learning how to sail!

I am a certified French and English teacher and Matteo has experience in environmental management as well as working as a backcountry wilderness ranger and in a ski resort. We sold everything we owned, quit our jobs and are currently travelling for as long as we can. We are newbies on Couchsurfing but are very excited to become a part of this community.

Tomorrow is never promised so better make the most of every day and enjoy every little thing!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We decided to create a Couchsurfing profile because as much as we love to travel in hostels, we think that this platform is way better to genuinly connect with people and their culture. Since we are new on Couchsurfing, I am happy to provide my Airbnb profile to show some references!

Interests

Together, we are passionate about many things! We both love the outdoors (camping, hiking, skiing, surfing, diving, etc.), learning new languages and seeking experiences that are off the beaten path. We love to live a simple life, play music, have great conversations and be surrounded by nature. Our biggest passion is definitely the ocean and everything that comes with it. We also can't resist conquering all the mountains that are on our path. We both love animals very very much as well, especially cats and sharks!

We loooove music and both play guitar. Not a day goes by without us listening to our favorite songs! Favorite bands: the Growlers and the Doors... and many more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many adventures.. we can tell you more about those over a beer or a coffee depending on what time it is hehe. A crazy one was definitely a scuba dive surrounded by 4 adult bull sharks in Belize!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a French and English teacher, I can help anyone who's interested to learn these languages to get better! I can also teach basic Spanish and Matteo can teach Italian. He can also teach surf since he has been practicing this sport for a long time. We both possess our Divemaster training and lots of knowledge about the ocean that we can share! I am not the best cook by any means but I do know a few really yummy vegetarian recipes that I can share with you. :) We also are always excited to learn anything new!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are always willing to cook a good dinner to our hosts or to help out in the house or the garden in any way we can. We enjoy outdoor work as well as work related to animals and are not afraid to get dirty. We are both very respectful, tidy and happy to help!! Good vibes always!
