Me in a nutshell: I am quirky, gregarious, and quite witty. I am passionate and emotional and some might even say 'eccentric'. I'm known for laughing at my own jokes and hosting fantastic parties (dinner or dance or both!). I love to eat, travel, listen to all types of music, read novels and watch movies. I love contemporary art and philosophy. My hobbies include: dreaming, cooking and collecting retro furniture. I do like the finer things in life and so hot water and clean sheets are essentials. I reciprocate by keeping it neat and clean, just the way I like it.

When I travel I tend to stay clear of the tourist traps and prefer to soak in the atmosphere and culture by sitting at cafes people watching and I love to meet people over a drink and at parties. I also really enjoy nature and outdoor fun and I'm known for hosting wine and cheese tastings at the tops of mountains.

I will cook if at all possible, so be prepared to indulge in a delicious home cooked meal with lots of wine and laughing!

Interests

Cuisines of the world - I love to eat and cook. It's in my genes. I talk about the next meal whilst eating.
Hiking - South Africa, a land with an abundance of beautiful hikes, through forests, along beaches, in the desserts and in the bush. I love to hike!
Yoga - this has become something I cannot live without, a part of my weekly regime. It is an extremely solitary exercise, allowing me the opportunity to keep fit and take time out to be introspective.
Fashion - I find it extremely difficult to travel light. Mixing and matching, pairing and contrasting - I love to dress up, I always have. I think it could be genetic.

At the moment I'm really loving Lord Huron, Lonesome Dreams. Wish they would come out with a new album! I have an eclectic taste in music but when I'm a fan, I'm a die hard fan! I love you Radiohead, The National, The Cure, Air, Chemical Brothers, The Strokes, Counting Crows, Death in Vegas, Arcade Fire...
I'm a movie junky: Lost in Translation, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ruby Sparks, Little Women, American Beauty, Mean Girls, Withnail and I... The list goes on...
Books: I tend to read a few books at a time. Books that have stuck with me include Life of Pi, The God of Small Things, Remains of the Day, Atomised...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a child, because my father was a game ranger, my family and I lived in the Kruger National Park for five years. Growing up in the bush really influenced how I approach life.
As an adult, I have had the privilege of being able to indulge in some fantastic and spectacular meals at a few Michelin Star restaurants around the world including The Fat Duck and The London. Eating at even more of these restaurants is on my bucket List.

I've learnt that being selfish is not a a bad thing. When you learn to put yourself first it is so much easier to connect, respect and take care of others.
