Overview
About Me
Vegetarian Mexican American from California. I talk too much and I am an introvert. Go figure. I am best one on one and I love getting to know people that way. I get the intimate conversations and I thrive to constantly have those in my life. I don't care for big groups but I'll sometimes be the life of the party. I have my moments. I have dabbled in everything from Tae Kwan Do, flying airplanes, to winning spelling bees. I will try anything once or twice. I cannot really say who I am exactly or what my beliefs are because I like entertaining any and all ideas. As long as it is good in my book and does no harm to others than I will entertain the idea of anything. I have studied philosophy, kinesiology and business. You'll see that I can't really make up my mind about what my hobby will be but I do have a plan for my life! I have known since a young age that life is too precious to be wasted doing something that you don't enjoy. I am constantly reminding myself of what little time I have left and so I try and accomplish my goals and check goals off my bucket list as often and quickly as I can. My next hobby will be building robots and getting into 3D printing. I am pretty ecstatic to get started on that. I also want to build a tiny home with my husband by 2016. It is becoming my next big goal in life is to build multiple homes around the states.
If you didn't notice already...I ramble, a lot. I used to be embarrassed but now I am just entertained at how much I can talk to a single person about anything and everything. I am open-minded and enjoy conversations about YOU and your life and your surroundings and culture. I talk a lot because to me that it what life is about...CONNECTION!
Other than my wanting to know and experience everything I can in the world, my other pleasure in life is laughing. If I am ever hosting you, I will probably take you to my favorite comedy club. There's no better way than to bond over a couple of drinks and laughter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing to learn about my hosts and their culture. My first experience abroad, I used AirBnB and I was in my teens and had no idea who these other people were that I was staying with in Italy for 6 weeks. I wanted a way to connect with people in the place I was living rather than stay in my own hotel or apartment. So, I took a chance and booked the accommodation (which was 5 years ago now) and got to know my host via Facebook and it made me a little more at ease, but I was still scared. I have never met this person before in my life and I was going to live with them. It ended up being the best experience of my life and it ignited something in me. Something that is still with me to this day. I love traveling and meeting new people. I love staying in other people's homes and I love having other people from other countries stay with me as well. They become friends for life and become your family that you have all over the world. I took that chance in Italy 5 years ago and I still remember the day I got off that plane and was instantly relieved to see my host waiting at the gate for me to drive me to her apartment. I put trust in a stranger to get to know her and to have the chance to live in her home and experience life the way she did for a short period of time. I fell in love with this way of traveling and since then have stayed with friends through couchsurfing and most recently, I got to experience my husband's first couch surfing experience as well with him in Australia. We made a friend by the end of it. I think that is what it's all about and that is why I really enjoy the CS community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flown and successfully landed a Cessna. I have yet to return to the sky but it is something I am aiming to do in the near future so I can fly wherever my little heart desires.
Teach, Learn, Share
Beer was made by women first for centuries and the oldest beer recipe was a hymn to a woman named Ninkasi.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My immense passion of beer, wine and spirits. I can teach you cocktails, how to pair beer and wine with foods and answer any questions I have about those three mentioned. If my husband is traveling with me, then he can give you a haircut while I can clean up the mess.
