About Me
Hello all, I am Roxy. ❤️
My various roles in life are teacher, lover and friend. But above all I am human. A free spirit and a soul in this particular vessel.
I love travel because our differences in culture, music, and overall expression intrigue me. But what truly fascinates me most is how interconnected we all are. How our similarities always outweigh the differences.
Every person I have met traveling has had something to teach me. “When you know how to listen everyone becomes the guru.”
I would like to be a safe space for everyone I meet to unapologetically be themselves. I have a global source of love from the relationships I’ve built on couchsurfing, hitch hiking, and just wanting to know people.
I hope to keep developing meaningful relationships and enjoying the world we live in. With childlike playfulness and curiosity. ✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because I love meeting other conscious humans. I also want to live with locals so I can really absorb the culture of the area I am in. I want to know about all parts of living there, not just the pretty touristy parts. I want to know the history, the people, the food.
Knowing people is the way I know a place. The people make all the difference.

Music, Movies, and Books
Literature holds me.
There is nothing I love more than a book that can let me see into the world of another person and understand their way of life.
James Baldwin is my literary hero because his writing does not allow one to be apathetic. He speaks about the many pressing racial injustices poisoning America in a way that one cannot ignore them any longer.
I love Ram Dass because he has reinforced through words everything the universe has shown me in law and action. Be Here Now, is one of my favorite mystic books.
I have a huge admiration for independent film and the people who produce it. I am particularly interested in documentary work. I attend the Human Rights Watch film festival in NYC every year because I believe in the ability of media to expose truth.
Music stops time for me. Some of my most beautiful moments in life have been just giving myself over to harmony and rhythm. My music taste is all over the spectrum. I love anything that is poetic with deep lyricism. But I also love wonky beats.
Transformational music festivals are lovely. Live music often brings me to tears because of the sheer beauty of it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helping under privileged kids be the first in their family to go to college. Education is power. Cultivating knowledge and awareness breaks cycles of poverty and stops trans-generational trauma.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about social justice and grass roots movements. I have worked for three non profits from the ground up and have been an advocate for black lives and climate justice.
I can listen to anything you have to say without judgement as a fellow human being. I can be a safe space for you to become free.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An abundance of affection and good conversation. An international friend.
I enjoy developing real friendships. Do not host me if you are expecting sexual gratification.
