ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Taiwan. I am keen on traveling, meeting people, and trying local food in the places I travel to. I like learning some greeting words or phrases in local languages as well. I feel grateful to have the chance to live in the US, Germany and England for one year respectively. Also I have lived in Galicia, Spain and Poznań, Poland for 3 months or so.

PHILOSOPHY

I like meeting new people from different parts of the world and experiencing different kinds of cultures, customs, traditions and people. Also I am interested in learning new things to broaden my knowledge of the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The first time I surfed on my hosts' couch and they were an American couple who were super friendly, hospitable, and helpful. My host really saved me from drowning in the ocean of Okinawa so I always feel thankful for this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did couchsurfing for the first time in May 2005 in Okinawa, Japan. I met some really nice people there and I made some friends as well. I missed everything that I experienced during my trip and the people I met there. Hopefully, I can see them again soon.

Through couchsurfing I have met some really nice people but also had a couple weird experiences. However, good experiences outweigh bad experiences, I feel quite lucky that I have met many nice and genuine people and also made friends with them. I still keep in touch with some of them quite often and that is fascinating.

I am fond of comedies but lately I haven't watched many movies. I like different kinds of music. I have recently started reading more books in both Chinese and English. Some of the books are related to finding myself, improving myself and getting to know myself while others are related to how to live at the moment.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have traveled alone by myself to several countries and have met many wonderful hosts/people in different countries as well. Meeting nice people and having gratitude in mind are always the core focus for me.

I went snorkeling in the ocean around Okinawa. I almost drowned but my couchsurfing host showed up at the right moment, he saved my life. I have seen some nice fish and corals in the sea and they are all brilliant. But I’m forever grateful for my first couchsurfing host! I felt this is an amazing thing to share because I almost drowned but I got rescued.

There are always gives and takes.

I have met some really nice, helpful and genuine people on this website but once in a while I encountered a couple not so nice people. These lessons taught me to stay away from some negative or strange people.

I can make Taiwanese dishes, Italian pasta, a couple of Spanish dishes and a bit of Tex-Mex food if my hosts want to try my food then please ask for it. Thanks!
