I grew up in South Africa and have been in the States for about 10 years. Denver for 5, NYC for 2, and St. Petersburg for 3.

Life has been an interesting journey since leaving the corporate world behind about 3 years ago. I have been pursuing freelance work as a photographer/videographer, and I am a part time real estate agent.

I realize time again that life is short and I must travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My life by design is one of freedom of time and location so that I can travel and see the world. I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures. Couchsurfing is the perfect vehicle to marry these interests and offers an amazing opportunity to connect with the world on a deeper level.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied abroad in Beijing, China for about 4 months during college. I minored in Mandarin, which was a huge accomplishment for me. Since then I have lost quite a bit of the language, and it is my goal to pick it back up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an incredibly respectful and clean person. Well traveled and cultured, but extremely down to earth. I love connecting with people just as much as I respect people's privacy (and my own) when the time is right.

I would love to spend some time getting to know my hosts, while also being able to explore the city I am in by myself or my girlfriend when we are traveling together.
