About Me

I'm just a lost soul and traveling artist who, someday, wants to tell stories. [My biggest inspiration probably being Hayao Miyazaki].
Growing up, or family never had a car, so I learned to walk or cycle around my city and neighboring cities up until I moved to college.

Now I kind of just ride when/wherever I want- its kind of harrowing and gets pretty exhausting, but I'm hoping one day I can say it was truly worth it.

Generally, I'm just quiet and keep to myself because it's easier for me [social anxiety, am I right?] but I really DO enjoy meeting new people, even if I take awhile to open up sometimes.
I also want to continue traveling and see the world and understand as many different walks of life as I can in this lifetime.

Right now [Fall 2023] I'm on a trip from New York, back to Indiana for the first time in over three years, then out to Missouri. Everything is on the back of my bike, including my tent, since I'm stealth camping most of the way, but I'm hoping I can get some couchsurfing chances too, from time to time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Finding inconspicuous places to pitch a tent is hard 😭 especially in places you've never been to, which seems to be all of the time, for me. Couchsurfing just might give me a spot to rest worry free for a night or two, charge my phone and things for the next few days on my trip, and of course allow me to meet cool new people.

Interests

I've just always been a big nerd, drawn to fictional media of all types, [anime, movies, books, video games, etc.] and no matter what it was [or what it is] , my favorite genre always seems to be Adventure.

Even if it seems childish, I grew up wanting to live like the characters in my favorite stories, (i.e. One Piece, Stardust Crusaders, Inkheart, His Dark Materials) and so I think I cycle now to feel like I'm on my own kind of adventure. I've always got my sketchbook and would love to share my pictures and stories with you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: From Tyler to Colbie Caillat. From Asian Kungfu Generation to Kendrick Lamar. I also know way too many Disney songs (Tangled "When Will My Life Begin" really hits deep on a sunny Saturday morning when you've got no plans.)

Books: His Dark Materials, Ink Heart Trilogy, Howl's Moving Castle Trilogy, Maze Runner Trilogy + Prequel, etc. Wish I had more time to read honestly.

Movies: Everything Studio Ghibli. Also a really smart animated movie called Tekkonkinkreet, and of course, Surf's Up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year, I was on the road- cycling for +2 months from Upstate New York to Gainesville, FL. [And I only got hit by a jeep once🤙🏿]

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know what I can teach, but I'd like to think that I'm always willing to learn new things. I don't think I've got to many interesting stories to share, but I often like to share my art. I'm also down for sharing knowledge in conversations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Friendliness, and I guess conversations and stories. I've got downloaded movies for the long nights and is love to share them. Also I'd love to draw for you/add a doodle about my stay for my journal/sketchbook!

Countries I’ve Lived In
