Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently studying a masters in renewable energy engineering in Germany

ABOUT ME

Hmmm I've had to produce a write up about myself a few times. I'm still discovering who I am exactly. Take a look at these links first:

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal saviour. Although I grew up Catholic I'm no longer affiliated to any particular denomination. I don't subscribe to the traditional Christian viewpoint of subduing the earth. I believe one of my purposes on this earth is to teach people how to respect it by living a simpler life. I also hope to teach my two children to be good stewards too.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a new member to CS (as of November 2009) although I've done a fair bit of informal couch surfing in my time...before CS was available ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I spent 3 years travelling around the world after I finished my engineering degree in 1994. I've had many unofficial couch surfing experiences but the most memorable one was in New Zealand. I was cycling along a 4x4 route along a very remote section of coastline and needed a place to pitch my tent. I stopped in at the nearest farmhouse to ask permission to camp and instead was invited to stay the night at the farmhouse. That night I feasted on home made mutton sausages and freshly caught crayfish! Hospitality I will never forget.

Intereses

My family, cycle touring, open source software, permaculture, fly fishing, linux, renewable energy, drinking good red wine, reading a good book, www.ted.com, figuring things out, the transition towns concept, playing the guitar (but I'm no pro)
