About Me

UPDATE: we have renovations at our place so can't host anyone this month.

Call me the seeker, a young contrarian and starving digital artist...

Watching films on my projector, drinking, reading in the sun and cycling.

Making electronic art and psychedelic visuals for people chasing profound and novel experiences. I like late, late night conversation, expanding minds and seeing things.

Art is my main passion, having studied fine art, film and animation. I'm learning animation for performance & 3D at the moment. To travel the world while exhibiting and performing my works is the dream.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to offer my home and local knowledge of bars and food in exchange for great experiences, new friends and travel stories! My girlfriend and I were hosted in Italy and went to some meetups on our recent Europe trip and had an amazing time with couchsurfers so we want to be part of the community.

Interests

I cycle everyday for work and love what I do to pay the bills.

On a sunny day I'm cycling around, kicking a ball around in the park with some friends, reading a good book with some accompanying drinks.

I like to draw and write fiction whenever I have a little spare time.

Partial to nerdy pursuits like video games, board games, card games and the developing cutting edge of technology is my current fascination and oh the humanities!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: more old school, digging sets of Blues, Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, but some eclectic mixes like *some* techno/trance and dark wave/ambiance albums.

Books: bit of a sci-fi geek so Star Maker is my top read. Other favourites are Catch-22, Invisible Cities, Anti-Oedipus, A Confederacy of Dunces, A Canticle for Leibowitz, Society of the Spectacle, The Stars My Destination and How to Talk Dirty and Influence People.

Films: mind bending journeys are my favourite, like The Holy Mountain, Rubber, Brazil, Altered States, Stalker, Enter the Void, Primer, Apocalypse Now and Lebowski. Did I mention sci-fi or horror already? Also classics from Bergman, Tarkovsky, Kubrick, Kronenberg, Scott, Scorsese and Lynch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recently: mushrooms at the Van Gogh museum!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think of myself as a lifelong student and have my house and knowledge to share!

Locally I know a lot of the good bars and galleries. I've been to most of the restaurants in the inner-city so could easily recommend tasty food and good drinks.

Talking about the creative pursuits are my favourite, but also the state of the world, funny stories, existential bullshit, plus those strange experiences that we all have in life but can't quite explain...
