COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Its a kind of magic or an attraction associated with Globetrotting that definitely made me addicted to Couchsurfing from the start.I travel and like to take from the on the road experiences of others and see how I can fit them into mine.

When visiting New Zealand in 2008 I noticed it was a great way to see a place for the first time with proper local Hospitality and ever since then have been hooked.

I have hosted csers in my Flat in Douglas , Isle of Man from Italy , Spain,Belgium, Romania , England , France, Australia , Canada ,Malaysia,India , Morocco,Czech , China , Japan and the United States since 2011.

And had the fantastic experience of Couchsurfing in Spain,France , South Africa ,Belgium, England and Morocco.

I will be hosting in Randburg throughout December 2019,January and February 2020 on my yearly sojourn home to South Africa.(Making my couchsurfing experiences all the more fun and different!)Already in such a short time I have hosted a singaporean Matt and now a Swiss chap Klaus back in 2013.

After noticing just how hard it was to get to certain touristy places in Joburg , I contacted the Hop on Hop Off bus company and managed to organise a few complimentary tickets for csers and their local hosts....what fun.

Making the ardous journey to The last of the Kalash People in the Kalash Valley in NWFP (Pakistan) surviving as they have done for centuries amongst warring nations in May 2000.Seeing the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand , breath taking!Enjoyed the solitude of Bedouins in the Sahara desert in Morocco.Sunset in the west of the Isle of Man and waiting for the Northern lights (aura) to paint a pink celtic sky into illuminous greens.
Witnessing a changing South Africa at the same time I became an adultearly 1990s a few places and regimes worldwide can take a leaf out of their book!
All the experiences have installed a sense of positivism within me !

What I Can Share with Hosts

Loads of travel stories...including my latest funny one of a DR WHO impersonator playing weird music at 4 am in the morning on Croydon's streets scaring freaking me out. ..and then dressed in a matrix type jacket he wisps across the road like some sort of a super hero. ...next time it would be a better option to couchsurfing instead of hang round till an early train.🔍🔍🔍🔍
