Hello from beautiful Sofia in Bulgaria!

I am working as the executive director of an educational non-profit implementing Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org) in Bulgaria and thus giving free worldclass education to Bulgarian kids and empowering Bulgarian teachers. Previously I was active in cultural policy, arts management and socially engaged arts projects. I have experience in state government and administration too. For several years I was also a board member of a big and really exciting international network - MitOst, based in Berlin and working in the fields of active citizenship and cultural exchange all over Europe and its neighboring countries. That is why I traveled extensively, mostly in Central and Eastern Europe and Germany, and I have many colleagues and friends (and also family) all around Europe.

I think I am a smiling, hospitable and very curious person. If you cannot find me during my spare time, I am very probably somewhere hiking or speding time with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe you cannot understand and enjoy a place without understanding and enjoying its people. I made some really great experiences with this Couchsurfing platform years ago. Up to now, I simply love it! As I am quite a busy person, I am not especially active here as a host, unfortunately. I travel a lot, but I mostly do it organized and visiting friends, family and/or for work. Nevertheless, I hope to and try to couchsurf and host, at least occasionally.

Interests

I love hiking and spending time in nature, hanging around with friends and family, yoga, travelling, visual arts and design, beautiful films... I love the sun, the spring, I need beauty... I am interested in global politics, in more effective ways of empowering civil society and any individual. I am interested in what the future brings for our societies, or rather in how we manage to make our common future more sustainable.
