ABOUT ME

My name is Rolando but you can call me Ray. I have traveled much around the world by myself and it's been a crazy adventure. I love getting to know people from various backgrounds and cultures.

I'm was born and raised in the lone star state of Texas (Dallas to be exact) but I was offered a job in Los Angeles, California so here I am. I've always admired the Californian lifestyle and the beautiful beaches so I was happy for this change.

I plan to keep moving to other cities around the world as I work in the medical field and can offer my assistance. I am a scientist with a keen interest in medical research so chat me up if you will about anything and everything that is nerdy 🤓

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hoping to show you around Los Angeles but bear with me as I am new to this city so I don't 100% know my way around. I live in the Woodland Hills area, about 30 minutes north of downtown LA. I work mornings Monday's thru Saturday's so I will be happy to take you to the beaches (or anywhere else) on my days off as well as find tons of good places to eat.

I ask you not to send me a request if you are solely looking for a free place to stay for an extended period of time. I do not mind helping you out if you need to rest during a layover for a night or two. I write this due to an unfortunate experience with a couchsurfer who lied to me about wanting to see my city when she really needed a place to crash until she found work. That is not what Couchsurfing is about.

As your host I feel obligated to show you around, but if you prefer to do your own thing that is fine, too especially as I'm busy with work during most of the week.

If you have 0 references and a poorly constructed profile with many entries missing, I prefer we connect on Facebook or other social media so I know a little about you before meeting you in a public place. I understand we all have to start somewhere but as a host it's safe to err on the side of caution.
