About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be the change you want to see in the world.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I am originally from Brazil, still quite a Mediterranean blooded person, but a citizen of the world as well, absorbing cultures everywhere. Only needed to say that at age 22 I had already paid rent in 6 different countries. Since then it's been 5 years in Sweden, 1 in Germany, and 2 in New York. Now I'm living in California, enjoying every sunny day.

I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and having a beer talking "stuff" in good company ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

Be open-minded, but not so open-minded that your brains fall out.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite Movies:

Reservoir Dogs, From Dusk to Dawn, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brow, Kill Bill. I'm a lover of the Tarantino style. Can't break free of it.

Primal Fear, The People Against Larry Flint, American History X, Fight Club, Keeping the Faith, Red Dragon. I'm a big fan of Edward Norton. Can't break free of it.

Further I liked Silence of the Lambs, American Beauty, Enemy at the Gates, City of God, Goodbye Lenin and many others I'm too tired to list.

Favourite books:

Why people believe in weird things (Michael Schermer)
The unpossessed (Ursula K. Le Guin)
The Anticrist (Nietzsche)
The Naked Ape (Desmod Morris)
The Selfish Gene (Richard Dawkins)
Letter to a Christian Nation (Sam Harris)
Demon Haunted World (Carl Sagan)
Pale Blue Dot (Carl Sagan)

Poems of Fernando Pessoa, Bocage, Florbela Espanca, Olavo Bilac, Carlos Drummond. One has to learn Portuguese to appreciate them.

Music:

Iron Maiden, Queen, Guns and Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Beatles, Hendrix, Don McLean. Bob Marley, Cidade Negra. Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim. Raul Seixas, Cazuza, Paralamas, Legiao, Capital. Bersuit, La Ley, Los Prisioneros, Sol y Lluvia, Victor Jara, Angel Parra.

In Sweden I recommend Lars Winnerbäck and Lisa Ekdahl.
Didn´t really find good German music. But that would be a great way to improve my horrible German. So, tips are welcome.
