About Me

I grew up in Monterrey, city of the mountains at the north of Mexico and started school till I finished my Bachelor. During that time I went to Canada for an exchange semester, which introduced me to the International environment people and that is why I continued looking for something similar. For this reason I ended up in Hamburg where I studied 2 master degrees, one in Biotechnology and an MBA. After finishing I looked for a job and luckily found one in Stuttgart, which at the beginning I did not like at all, but now that I am making more friends, I find it such a great city... I guess it all depends on the people you know at the end :)

Many friends think I am quite social, friendly and leader type and some think that I am shy, I guess it all depends on the weather :)

Philosophy

Have the guts to never give up. Work to enjoy life and never to live for work. I basically have experienced living for working and I would definitely could never do it again. So far I have found a nice balance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, you could say I am quite new in Couchsurfing, but when I was in Hamburg, one of my best friends Onur from Turkey was using it, and actually we had lots of fun hosting people from different countries like France, USA or Japan. I found it quite interesting and I got the opportunity to meet great people and experience many different cultures.

Interests

I like dancing, specially salsa. I took courses during one year with a great friend of mine in Hamburg and we got good, but still have a lot to learn.

I enjoy my free time by playing guitar, going out jogging with friends or alone. Right now I can make up to 10 km, but somehow I still don't feel fit at all. I enjoy several kind of sports like table tennis, badminton in the park, football or tae kwon do, which actually I haven't done much lately, but I will continue.

I find it amazing going to Cinema, dinner or just picnic or BBQ with friends.

I like learning new things, right now I am trying hard to learn russian by myself, but it is quite difficult hehe.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide range of movie categories I like. For example Sherlock Holmes, Baymax, Minions, lord of the rings, Gegen die Wand, El secreto de sus ojos, La cara oculta, Constantine, Where do we go now, Hanami, Léon the Professional, The girl who leapt through time, spirited away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's moving castle, etc.

I like series like Game of thrones, once upon a time, how I met your mother and I like japanese animation too.

I haven't read mant books, but still more than many people I guess. I read all of the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, the girl who loved Tom Gordon and some thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying and working in Germany is one thing. I am not the greatest guitar player, but I managed to form 2 bands during University in Hamburg and we played in several events, like Somerfest or graduation ceremonies. If you want there are some videos on youtube :)

I went with my dad hiking and climbing to the tallest mountain of my home city in Mexico, which was 2200 masl.

As a warm weather mexican type I did survive the -38°C winter in Calgary during my studies abroad.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some spanish and basics of guitar or maybe some salsa dancing. Here in Stuttgart there are some nice places for salsa dance :)
We can go out for coffee at morning or a beer at night and discuss maybe some things about my home country, life in germany, work or any other topic, for sure I can offer you an opinion about many things.

If you speak russian, It would be great if I practice the few things I have learned :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a nice couch or mattress I can share with you, with clean bed sheets and pillow. We have a nice place here with nice Balcon, 2 bathrooms and 3 rooms. Now I am living with 2 friends, a german girl from Hamburg and a guy from Spain. We get really along and we do many things together. They are really nice people and we are all working but relative new in Stuttgart.
