About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of the world as I can, while meeting as many people as I can, as sustainablly as I can.
ABOUT ME
Even my friends will admit that I'm a pretty difficult person to classify (which makes me smile). I'm one of the biggest goofs that you'll ever meet, but don't think I can't be serious about life. I love meeting new people and solidifying friendships with people I already know. I enjoy art, music, movies, learning new languages, and having conversations about any of the previous things. I've always loved traveling, and that's precisely what got me into couch surfing.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't ever let life pass you by.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been hosting and surfing for two years now, so while I'm not exactly a veteran, I'm by no means new at this. I currently live in a large house with multiple couches and rooms, so I can be extra accommodating. The only thing I ask is that you give me at least a week's notice (two would be best) if you would like to stay. I'm a grad student and I'm very busy so it works out best this way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch surfed for two weeks in Provence and for a few days in Germany. I also hosted a few people during my last year at college in Northern Missouri. Whether surfing or hosting, couch surfing has been nothing but a positive experience for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
There are honestly way too many for each of these categories:
Movies: I don't even know if I should get started, I'll be on here for hours. I think listing directors would be easier:
Quentin Tarantino
Stanley Kubrick
Billy Wilder
Wes Anderson
George Lucas
John Ford
William Wyler
Steven Spielberg
Bergman
Kurosawa
Truffault
Goddard
That's not even counting the one hit wonders, but it gives you a pretty good idea.
Music: I listen to about everything except for country (and even then there are country songs that I like). Favorites will be:
Classical:
Mozart
Beethoven (always and forever)
I've recently gotten into Mahler
John Adams is the greatest living composer in my opinion
Rock: Anything from Buddy Holly all the way to Coldplay
Jazz: Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and Yoko Kano.
Blues: Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters fan.
I'm also a big fan of soundtrack music, world music, and Celtic music.
Books:
The Stranger
Heart of Darkness
Huck Finn
Brothers Karamazov
Les Miserables
Lord of the Flies
To Kill a Mockingbird
A Good Man is Hard to Find
The Harry Potter Series
Many, many others there as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been privileged to experience many things that I would consider to be amazing. Finding one that many other travelers haven't done is difficult though...
A recent one that comes to mind would be watching a sunset over Edinburgh. The day was crystal clear (which is rare in Scotland and in the UK in general) and just the right temperature. We climbed up Calton Hill in the center of the city and made with plenty of time to leisurely enjoy the view and watch the sun sink over one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. It was a very wonderful experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want a good conversation over just about anything, a good listener, and a pretty good cook (note the pretty) then I'm your man.
