About Me

Hey there!

I'm Sooraj, a software developer from a beautiful coastal state in India. But you know what really sets my soul on fire? It's traveling! I absolutely love exploring different places, no matter if it's just a short trip. There's something so fascinating about seeing how each place is unique and special in its own way.

When I travel, I'm all about making new friends and connecting with locals. There's a special kind of joy in hearing their stories and experiencing their culture firsthand. I'm always up for a good time with people, but I also cherish those moments when I can wander around and explore on my own, just soaking in the atmosphere.

My philosophy in life is simple: the universe has a way of bringing people together. So, I believe that the people I meet during my travels are meant to cross my path, and each encounter has something valuable to offer.

Traveling fills my heart with so much happiness and wonder. Whether it's enjoying a serene sunset by the beach, dancing to traditional music with newfound buddies, or trying out delicious local dishes, every experience is a treasure to me.

I'm just a regular guy with an insatiable wanderlust, seeking adventure and cherishing every moment life throws my way. I feel so lucky to be able to explore the world, meet amazing people, and create memories that will stay with me forever. So let's join hands and embark on this exciting journey together! 🌍✨🚀

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing because, as a traveler, I believe that the best way to experience a place is through the eyes of the locals. Staying with people who call the destination home gives me a unique opportunity to immerse myself in their culture and lifestyle. It's not just about finding a free place to crash; it's about forming genuine connections with new people.

Couchsurfing allows me to break away from the typical tourist experience and venture into the heart of a community. I get to hear stories, learn about traditions, and discover hidden gems that I wouldn't find in any guidebook. It's like having my personal tour guides who are passionate about sharing their love for their city or country.

Besides the cultural enrichment, meeting new people is an incredible part of my journey. Each host I encounter has their own story to tell, and I'm always eager to listen and learn from them. The friendships that blossom during these stays can last a lifetime, and that's what makes the whole experience even more rewarding.

I believe in the power of human connections. Couchsurfing has opened doors to friendships and hospitality that I never imagined possible. It has shown me that no matter where I go, there are kind-hearted and welcoming individuals willing to share their home and time with a traveler like me.

So, couchsurfing isn't just a way to save money; it's a way to create meaningful experiences and forge connections with people from all walks of life. It's about breaking down barriers, building bridges between cultures, and embracing the true spirit of wanderlust and human camaraderie. And for me, that's what makes every trip an unforgettable adventure.

Interests

Traveling...duh. I enjoy traveling with others, but traveling solo can be even more fun. When making plans, you have only yourself to argue with. If those plans change, no big deal! I love to travel internationally when the chance presents itself. As I've traveled more of the India in recent years, I've realized how much I'm truly missing right in my own backyard, and I'm learning to appreciate what we have.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, I'm into movies, music, and books!

Movies: Marvel, Conspiracies, Suspense, Dumb Comedy

I'm not picky when it comes to music. I may recognize a song, but 90% of the time, I won't be able to tell you who is responsible for it! I like classic rock, 80s stuff, classical, top 40, country, alternative, etc.

When I have time to read, I like to pick up a good conspiracy novel. My two favorite authors right now are Dan Brown and Emily Brodie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once , I ventured to the enchanting land of New Zealand. In Queenstown, I embraced my adventurous spirit and bungee jumped from the iconic Kawarau Bridge, feeling the exhilaration of flight and freedom. My journey took me through the rugged landscapes of the South Island, from trekking in Fiordland National Park to witnessing the sunrise at Mount Cook. In Rotorua, I immersed myself in the Maori culture, learning their ancient traditions and feeling a profound connection with nature. As I bid farewell to this magical land, I carried with me the spirit of adventure and the memories of a journey that had changed my life forever.
