Overview
About Me
Very much an outgoing people person, I love to hear stories and share experiences and I plan to do allot of this during my trip around the world. Im very much a believer that in person experiences shape beliefs stronger than media rhetoric. Im down for anything but at the same time very respectful and happy to have a chilled time. I have a very open mind and love discussions which make me ask questions that expand my horizons. Im basically traveling a year around the world to just listen, learn and live with people from all walks of life. I have been described as very driven and motivated by my closest friends and have great ambitions in life. I actually worked 7 days a week for 4 years sleeping 4 hours a night building a business before I sold it and decided to head off for 12 months; because hey you're only here once. We are currently sharing this short 100 years on earth with 7 billion other peers, one segment of time together that only we will understand, so I'm doing my best to understand as many of you as possible, and I hope you can understand me too.
Just a heads up, Im currently not able to host anybody because I've just embarked on this world tour and won't be home until mid July 2018!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Im couchsurfing because I believe that the people who know the location best are simply the local people. Also I have to be honest and mention that it is also a more Affordable way to travel. But above all, with all the cynical attitudes of so many around the world, couch surfing is a strong indicator that there is still genuine, kind and awesome people in the world, and these are the people I'd love to meet.
Interests
Adventures: Pretty self explanatory, whether its mountain biking in the forest, kayaking in the Amazon, discovering cities by night, pulling through a week at burning man or even as simple as stumbling upon some landmarks trying to find my way around without a map; anything adventurous is fine by me.
Good conversation: also straight forward, whether it's an exchange of life stories or your thoughts on how the world operates, I'm down.
History: Although it was nothing of interest in the teen life cycle, now I'm finding how and why things came to be is kind of creating some curiosity and awe.
Meeting people: One of the best quotes from my friend Morello is "life is about the people you meet and what you create with them" and I couldn't agree more.
Different cultures: To walk through the rural villages in South America and South East Asia to super high tech and fast paced Japan, seeing a new way of life and a new way of doing things all in the same struggle to find what makes us happy, seeing people all chase the same end in different ways is captivating and challenges perceptions.
Helping people: From the cradle to the grave I can't explain it but I always empathise and feel people's pain very strongly. I have been blessed and cursed with this level of caring that I can't explain, I just want to help. However I want to help in a way that is sustainable and goes on after I'm gone, that is why I believe business can help me help others in the ways listed above. I really believe that every ounce of good you do is reflected in your life day to day.
Relaxing: All in all, traveling can sometimes wear you thin, and you can't go on an adventure and have a party every day, that is why from time to time the nicest thing is just a nice quiet dinner with some casual chat and an early relaxing night.
Renewable energy: I want to get heavily involved in this industry when I return to Australia, main reasons being that if we can work towards reliable renewables sooner we create one less reason for war (no more fighting for fossil fuel resources), we can avoid the impending doom of climate change and we can work towards solving the problems associated with a growing middle class in the developing nations and the huge energy consumption needs that it comes with.
Business: Its all well and good to have your hand out to the government to try to make the world a better place, but if you want to move faster you have to make something make sense economically (profitable). By harnessing this knowledge you can bring good things to the world and help people in a more effective way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Rap and hip hop, although many see it as derogatory, the truth is that it does relay the struggles and truths of being raised in a harsher environment and in many instances provides some hopefull stories for those who want a better life for them selves and their families. I also love many forms of EDM, classical, jazz, folk and a huge mix of weird other things. Music is enjoyed for three reasons, either it sounds good sonically, you can relate to what is being said, or you identify with the cause or brand of the artist; so if these boxes are ticked I'm a fan.
Books: Books are the greatest resource we have to self advancement. You can get a person's entire life work, life lessons and perspectives for $15 and some dedicated reading time. You can basically have a conversation with the most prominent historical figures through autobiographies, how to books and the like. Some of my favorite conversations have been with George Orwell with 1984, Napoleon Hill with think and grow rich, and Andrew Carnegie through his Autobiography.
Movies: Sometimes you just want to get a pizza, bum out and unwind, these are my favs. The Shawshank Redemption, The Truman Show, Inside Man, Blow, The Notebook, Pineapple Express, Superbad & The Pursuit of Happiness.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I believe that I've done, was to stay side by side with a man who was once a high achiever and had fallen from grace to become heavily addicted to meth. I gave him hope, support, belief and the vision of a bright future when everybody had turned their backs. I stayed patient and although it took a long time this man successfully recovered fully, has been clean for years and has built back what he lost financially and in respect among his family and peers. And although I know this may not seem such an amazing achievement to most, I see it as one of the most important moments in my life because that man was my brother.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach health and fitness, I know how to help anybody improve their physical shape and overall health. And if you're already up to scratch I'd be happy to join you for a killer workout if you're down😀
Learn: I would love to get some help learning Spanish, anything related to business, the energy sector or great travel advice.
Share: Obviously I would love to share stories, experiences and perspectives.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What I can offer hosts? Damn that pressure.
I can offer you the utmost respect in your quarters, this means playing by the house rules. I am also more than happy to play my part in return for your hospitality, this could include doing some house work, vacuuming, doing the dishes, helping with cooking (I would offer to do the cooking but I'm not the greatest cook). I know I don't have any references yet because I just signed up, but im confident there will be plenty soon enough because I absolutely know that my level of respect for others is something I take allot of pride in.
Also leaving you to do your own thing if you're not down for the interaction and you're just using couchsurfing to pay it forwards. On the other hand if you're all about the interaction you will have a buddy who's practically down to do all the crazy or mundane things you want to do that your friends aren't down for.
