About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To cultivate positive energy and share it with everyone that I meet.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Zurich, Switzerland, lived there for ten years, then moved to Kingston, Ontario, Canada for four, then West Hartford, Connecticut, in the US for high school, and now Boston, Massachusetts for the past four years of college. I just finished my degree in Biology with focuses also in Architectural Studies and Studio Art at Tufts University, but if you ask me today I would say that I have spent most of my time here studying people.

I want to build strong and sustainable communities, am not sure how best to go about it yet, and am fascinated by any and all situations which allow me more insight into this still sort of vague long-term goal. I am in a soul (and career) searching phase right now.

I realized that in order for me to effectively be able to help others, I myself would have to be happy. After working specifically on this mission for eight years I can say now with confidence and pride that I am happy. I really do get the most out of life when I am successful at making the people around me happy and love finding new ways to bring light to the world.

I genuinely have love for everyone, but am still looking for more people who are more like me.

I want to eat locally grown food, fruits and vegetables all day long; I will never buy a car, I bike every day, often to buy groceries to cook for my friends; I wish college in America was more about live music and forming deep human connections rather than nose grinding balanced at the opposite extreme with blackouts.

Recently I have started refering to the feelings I get from people as "energy". Not sure if this is something that other people do as well. But I really do get good and bad energy from people and try to work with it to make it more positive in as many situations and ways as possible. I've realized that it doesn't matter what your position or job in life is but only your attitude, carry yourself with pride and love in your heart and put good energy out there, this is how we can create utopia together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far mostly talking about couch surfing. I was literally floored (like I needed to sit on the floor) the other night when my friend DP opened my eyes to the genuine possibilities for human connection which are created through this network of wonderful people.

No couch to offer up yet but am working on it.

Totally down for coffee with anyone anytime. I love meeting new people, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.

I will hopefully be using the network for couches for the first time this summer as I'm doing a cross America trip this July and August with my best friend from Switzerland. So psyched!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw three squirrels making love in a tree.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Many things; I love to teach people things but prefer it to be as a friend and not as a teacher, a socratic method versus a direct power-heavy teaching method. Skiing, skating, almost any sport to kids, arts and crafts, kite flying, camping/hiking.

Learn: Better Spanish, how to financially support always having enough healthy food in the house to feed anyone who walks in my door.

Share: What's mine is yours. Often this has caused me to have fewer posessions afterwards than I did before, but I find it difficult to live any other way.
