About Me
I read, i study philosophy, i like being in the mountains, i like the sea, one day i would like to sail it, from time to time i play the guitar and sing, i like the german word "Spaziergang", it means your going out for a walk, just to walk a bit, let your thoughts roll and enjoy being outside, i stay away from social media, maybe because i value telling more than showing pictures, it leaves more space for the invisible, nevertheless i like photography and my father is a painter and growing up with his paintings shaped me, i write, i write for myself i tell me, but sometimes i imagine how i would design the cover of my first book, knowing, that nowadays its not the decision of the author, and knowing that i will probably never publish anything - i would ask my father to come up with a drawing i guess - i travelled southamerica and i think talking, writing, singing about travelling is tricky, everyone wants to be a traveller, no one wants to be a tourist, ive met people, who only travel through books, and travellers who travelled on clishes and tourists who complained about the quantaty of tourists and i consider myself somewhere in between, trying to find some peace in the thought, that travelling might just be reaching out for other perspectives, i like watching garden birds through my binoculars, travelling Peru i always carried my 1 kilo heavy book "Birds of Peru" with me, i like my job as a bartender, although its tiring, i like all the different faces of my hometown Berlin, i like the way hitchhiking creates unlikely encounters, i like september, i studied ethnology, i try to learn quechua, so far i struggle a lot, i like kayaking, i box, because i like the training and the movements, i like cooking, i like heavy belgian beer, i like board games
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When im hiking or hitchhiking through more populated areas, sometimes i get a short feeling of how strange it is, how much afford i put in carrying my tent, a sleeping pad, a sleeping bag, a stove and so on, and i see all these houses, with so much space and then maybe my thoughts wander and i think of how much afford humans used to put in building shelters or some nomadic cultures still do and i dont want to bore you, its just the thought that maybe nowadays its not necessary that anyone travelling needs to worry about a place to sleep just because he cant find a campsite or a hostel or maybe hes just short on money. We built a lot of houses.
I enjoy having my private space at home and i value having a home where i can unfold myself in peace. Not having to say that its the same with other peoples homes. Anyhow i dont think private property should be the highest value of a society. And home is also a beautiful place to share.
Music, Movies, and Books
To make it short, just some examples, i grew up listening to the Beatles, i like documentaries, "The Velvet Queen", "Untitled" from Michael Glawogger. Too many books, to name just three: "Der Butt" Günter Grass, "The mushroom at the end of the world" Anna Tsing, "Walden" Thoreau
