ABOUT ME

I am an social and outgoing person, love travelling/exploring, food, music, meeting new people and have spontaneous fun wherever in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I truly believe that the most valuable lessons in life are learned from/with the people we meet on our journey. And Couchsurfing is the perfect tool to help like minded people from all over the world to connect and share wonderful experiences, life lessons, languages, culture and last but not least FUN!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have had 3 couch surfing experiences on travels to the US and it has truly given me a strong appetite to explore more of the world through this community of awesome people with a similar goal. I am looking forward to the next adventure !

Interests

In my free time I try to travel as much as I can, usually meeting friends I have met over the last years in the countries of their origin. I found this the most awesome way of travelling as one can really taste the best bits of the culture when having a local guide who is on the same wavelength.
When I am not travelling nor working, I spent most of my time with friends in Brighton (UK) or London often cooking dinners together that occasionally end up in a houseparty :), visiting the local Brighton Pubs, or when the weather allows it go to the beach, park or countryside for picknick or barbeque. When I am alone I usually keep myself busy with music exploration, dj'ing (http://www.mixcloud.com/rubenvanalebeek/), watching movies (often world cinema) or series and play the occasional videogame.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:90's Hip Hop, Jazz fueled modernism, Raw Funk, future beats, post dubstep, minimal, experimental and creative grooves. (eg: Burial, Mr President, Cinematic Orchestra, Floating Points, D.I.T.C.)

Movies: World Cinema, Creative, short movies (tips always welcome)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Very hard to tell at this moment... memories usually appear throughout converse on a good night in/out :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to learn to cook new dishes from different countries/cultures especially less familiar cuisine types...

I can teach Basic DJ'ing skills in a short time that will allow you to play the decks (turntables) and mix tunes :)
