I have been enthusiastically couchsurfing for over four years and have been lucky enough to meet wonderful people through this medium all over the world. This year, I have travelled in Thailand, Vietnam and the USA. I look forward to continuing my travels and making more friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

MY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had fantastic experiences during couchsurfing, meeting incredible people who have been so generous with their time and space, helping me to create lasting friendships as well as unforgettable experiences. I cannot wait to add to my experiences!

I have lived with many different people as flatmates, especially during my time in London. I very much recognise how to respect others and to treat their house well.

WHY I AM HERE
I am on couch surfing in order to meet new friends, who can give me tips on what to do to make the most of my time in their hometown. I always find that the best travel experiences have been when I have been lucky enough to get to know locals and really immerse myself in the culture of the place: to see it from their eyes (as well as seeing all the tourist sites!). A lot of people I know have had great experiences on Couchsurfing. I've heard many great things, and I hope I will do so as well.

Interests

I'm very easygoing, up for a laugh, and always interested to learn. I love travelling and exploring new cultures, especially nooks and crannies, and hidden unknown gems. Finding those out-of-the-way hidey-holes that locals keep secret is what really makes travelling special for me. I am a huge foodie and I very much look forward to trying out everything and anything. I also love art and hope to explore galleries, especially for contemporary art. I'd love to attend music and theatre events and also squeeze in a bit of hiking if possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

my favourite author is a complete cliche, sorry! it has to be Haruki Murakami, in particular, Sputnik Sweetheart and Norwegian Wood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel experiences that I have loved include:
- kayaking at sunrise in Ottawa, Canada, with an incredible couch surfing host family
- sleeping in a Yurt in Inner Mongolia, and going out searching for the best quality cow turds (!) to build a bonfire at sunrise
- hiking for hours and hours along the beautiful coast of Amalfi in Italy, picking ripe figs and prickly pears fresh off the trees to gobble, and enjoying in the breathtaking views
- sleeping in a rickety overnight train in India from Mumbai to Delhi, making friends with the locals and sharing all our food in an international potluck
- living, eating and teaching English with 200 students in South Korea for 4 weeks, learning so much about Korean food, culture, and student life, and realising that the best way to travel and learn is really to live in it

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn Italian and Spanish, as well as improve my Chinese (both traditional and simplified), written language in particular. Any chance I may have to brush up on my French (5 years in high school) would also be fabulous. Apart from languages, I love to get stuck in during my travels, and share those stories with other adventurers
