About Me

I am an adventurous spirit who is rarely content to stay in one place for long. I usually live in Bristol in the UK in my recently converted van Elkie who has become my home. I work part time as a tour guide leading trips throughout Europe in the summer and I also have my own business designing and selling African festival clothing. I go to Ghana for a few months every winter and work with tailors there to create amazingly colourful garms and then travel the UK festival circuit in the summer with a stall.

I enjoy travelling and meeting people, I enjoy hitch hiking and travelling without any kind of specific plan so that you never know what fun things will happen each day and who you will meet.

I love live music and in Sheffield I set up a Ska/Funk/Reggae music night which was great fun and raised money for a school in Ghana.

I also enjoy going on bike rides, exploring, nature swimming, reading, cooking, going to watch bands, watching documentaries...

PHILOSOPHY

I think that it is great not knowing where each single meeting with a person can lead you in life and how it can impact upon their life or yours in the tiniest or biggest way. This is one of the reasons why I love to travel so much as it gives me the opportunity to meet so many cool people and learn from their experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have had some really great experiences couchsurfing around the globe. The philosophy of couchsurfing is amazing and the platform offers a way to meet local people and learn about cultures in a very different way than just staying in a hotel or hostel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Sapin, Ecuador, USA and Canada and had great and interesting experiences with everyone!

I have only hosted numerous couchsurfers both when I was living in Canada and also in Bristol.

Interests

My biggest interest is travel, I work part time as a tour guide throughout Europe through the summer which allows me to follow my passion whilst discovering new places. I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences and conversations. I think this is why I enjoy hitchhiking so much as you never know where each lift or conversation will lead. I have hitchhiked a lot in Europe and also in Canada and the US.

In my spare time I spend time with friends, go to concerts, cook big dinner parties, go on trips away in my van, cycling, go walking in the country....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I loved travelling and living in Ghana for 6 months.

Swimming with wild giant green turtles in Peru.

Hitching the West Coast of America and meeting some of the weird and wonderful residents of that part of the world!

Travelling overland from the UK to Ghana through the Sahara and West Africa.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm attempting to learn the diabolo (circus toy) and am more than willing to teach people the little I know or learn more from someone that is actually good at it!

I am also learning spanish and love the chance to practice.
