ABOUT ME

Holla. I'm Ruby, i'm 18 years old and live in a small village town in the hills just behind Cairns, Australia. I have decided to become a professional gap-yearist for a year while i travel around Western Europe with my best friend Izzy. I see myself as a friendly person. I'm half way between introverted and extroverted. I love to listen to music, read, watch films (especially animations). Izzy and i are looking forward to traveling through amazing countries experiencing new ways of living and being submersed into rich cultures. I have done bits and pieces of travel around different areas of the world. I only have a year to experience as much of this lovely planet as possible before i start studying animation and graphic design. Both myself and Izzy see ourselves as open minded people, looking to learn as much as possible about different cultures and ways of living.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had the pleasure of couchsurfing once before in Luxembourg and have met couchsufers travelling the world like us. We have thoroughly enoyed all our experiences so far. We believe that through couchsufering we have gained a better feel and understanding for the places we visit.

Music wise we pretty much enjoy all forms of music from classical to heavy metal.....bands such as Iron & Win, System of a Down, Raappana, The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, Tanya Davis, The Used, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley, Vampire Weekend, Dario Marianelli, Vivaldi, Sonic Youth, Nick Cave, M83, Miles Davis, Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, Mumford and Sons and so on. We love international films, as well as horrors, animations and fantasy. We love reading fantasy as well as classic literature and poetry.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

There are to many to just choose one. From camping in the deserts of Arabia, to climbing the many steps of Angkor Wat. Just waking up every morning and learning something new.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Well. We would love to learn more languages and become better at Italian if possible. I also love to learn how to cook! I don't think i could teach something specific however i love to share any of the knowledge i have gathered over life so far.
