Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To re-establish myself in a former life, only this time, with money.
ABOUT ME
I am "a wealth of useless information" according to a former university classmate. I adore huge, bold, fruity...red wines...and drag queens...in that order. I am impatient and narrow-minded. I walk fast. I laugh out loud, no matter where I am, when reading David Sedaris. I pity religious people who have never questioned what they believe.
PHILOSOPHY
I am always right. Except when I am wrong. Which, apparently, is much of the time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am back after being away from couchsurfing for a while. Soon to have a couch available again, excited to be able to host again.
I generally won't accept requests from Couchsurfers who aren't verified. So please go through the steps to become verified in the Couchsurfing system. It's a bit of a risk to invite a complete stranger to stay in my home - but at least if you're verified, that alleviates some of the concern.

Cooking, traveling, wine, scuba diving, snowboarding, rock climbing, reading, jazz and classical music, knitting, environmental issues.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything by Haruki Murakami or Kurt Vonnegut.
Country, trance, 80's pop, Madonna- then, now and forever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dived with sharks. Climbed a 30m near vertical rock wall. Visited the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, and saw a 5x8 foot canvas completely covered in black flies to a depth of about an inch - this blew my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
Today's current religious movement against same-sex marriage has its basis in the law in the Old Testament which states, roughly, that a man shall not lie with another man as he lies with a woman. However, there are literally hundreds of other laws in the very same part of the Bible which are ignored by today's Christians; for example, the part that says one shall not "wear clothes of two materials woven together". You can't go into a church today and throw a handful of dog shit without most of it landing on an assortment of ugly cotton/polyester blend 80's-era suits and dresses (trust me, I've tried this). So the next time the Christians try to tell you that their religion teaches them that same-sex marriage is prohibited by God, you can tell them that so is about half of what they do every day, and that it seems that today's Christians feel that they can pick and choose which of God's words and laws to follow, provided it allows them to discriminate against others with a clear conscience.
