ABOUT ME
I'm 28 years old and currently working as an architect at a small firm in Alaska. I've always enjoyed the outdoors and since moving to Alaska 3 years ago I have spent a lot of my time hiking, backpacking, fishing, hunting, and skiing. I also enjoy checking out local music when it's available, reading and watching movies. I enjoy traveling and look forward to opportunities to see and experience new things.
PHILOSOPHY
Still working on that. In general, I feel that if you can find something to enjoy each day then your time has not been wasted.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing has provided me with new experiences. I've really enjoyed meeting a variety of people during my travels and getting to know each of them. It's also been a pleasure to host the couch surfers that I've met. Everybody so far has been easy to get along with and usually had good stories to tell.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - Crime and Punishment, Les Miserable, The Plague, Sandman, American Gods, The Fountainhead (I'm not an objectivist, I just liked the story), A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, For Whom the Bell Tolls and others.
Movies - Momento, Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blade Runner, Chinatown, No Country for Old Men (Coen brothers' movies in general), American Beauty.
Music - Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Audioslave, Nirvana, Pretty Lights, Devil Makes Three, Minus the Bear, The XX, Crystal Castles, CCR. (Honestly, too many to mention. I am willing to give almost anything a listen and I enjoy hearing new music or sharing music with others.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being able to see the northern lights each winter continues to amaze me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure I have that many skills that others would want to learn, but I could show you a few things. I could show you how to watercolor (obviously it requires practice but I could show you the techniques). I could show you how to make mortar and lay brick. I can catch, clean, and cook salmon (or other fish) pretty well. I could get you started juggling, help with basic bike repair, or help you get through a level on a co-op video game. I'd be happy to learn anything that you could teach. It's always nice to learn new skills, even if they're not particularly useful.
