About Me

Jack of all trades with a great interest in IT, electronics, music, cycling and Potjiekos, and a serious follower of Jesus Christ.

I do some PHP, Python, Java, C, Javascript, Drupal, Vue, AWS, networking, GNU/Linux server admin, MikroTik, general tech support, audio & lighting, percussion, cycling, and many other things that I am not qualified at. When I get really inspired I have been known to try my hand at arranging sheet music.

I studied M.Eng in Digital Signal Processing at the University of Stellenbosch and now do full-time web development, etc. for God's Kingdom at the Reformational Study Centre (www.refstudycentre.com) in Pretoria.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling, but I don't like being a tourist. Couchsurfing seems like to way to go! Hopefully this will lead to great adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to (really almost) any genre of music, but my favourite composer is J.S. Bach. I find most movies to be a waste of time, but I enjoyed older animations like Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. The best book was and will always be the Bible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Make 3 potjies and bake 2 breads all at once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to learn more than I teach, since I have twice as many ears as mouths, and my ears don't have to spend their time doing things like eating and drinking. Unfortunately this is not always easy, as I tend to think with my mouth open. Maybe I'll share my experiences in a vlog someday. Maybe I'll teach you to play drums...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Useless things I gleaned from the internet. Useful things I learned from the Bible. Cooking tips.

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, Namibia, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In
