About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover myself by discovering others

ABOUT ME

Fully vaccinated and willing to provide proof.

I was born in Riga Latvia, but moved to the United States when I was 3, with my family. I have since lived in Alabama, and attended Auburn University to get a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Psychology. After graduating, I moved to Boulder, CO for grad school and a master's in Chemical Engineering. My passion for motorcycle riding found me moving to California's Bay Area, where I've recently discovered a burning passion for bachata dancing.

I'm a hopeless romantic.
I love the rain.
I hate being bored.
I love thinking.
I hate mosquitos.
I love walking/hiking/running.
I hate people who are too serious.
I love to laugh.

I enjoy playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, running, mountain biking, motorcycling, and mostly anything active.

PHILOSOPHY

We don't have thoughts, we only think we do.

Abraham Lincoln said it best: "When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a significantly better experience visiting a place when you get first hand knowledge from a resident. On top of that, it's tremendously interesting to see how people in various places live, how they decorate their homes, and go about their days. I want to experience that for myself and help others experience it with me.

Interests

I love having new experiences, exploring, eating, talking, thinking, reading, exercising, playing, but mostly - keeping engaged.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed a volcano called Vulcano, where I saw the highest point to be a ladybug.

I watched lawnmower races in a tiny town in Virginia.

I saw Rome from the cupola of St. Peter's Basilica.

Skiid down a black diamond slope on my 3rd day skiing.

Rode 200 miles at 70 mph during a tropical storm and survived...on a motorcycle.

Played Ultimate Frisbee during a Hurricane, in Mobile, AL.

Ran a half marathon (life goal).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a profession motorcycle riding instructor as well as a professional bachata dance instructor. I'd be more than happy to help you develop either of these skills.

I would love to hear new ideas and learn skills that others might see as odd or useless.

Most of what I could teach is academic in nature, but I can also show you a lot of athletic things. I'm also pretty decent at motorcycle maintenance/mechanics.

I'm a novice programmer (VBA and Java)
