About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Master the correct usage of futurum II in German, change the world.

ABOUT ME

I study music (guitar) and do for the most part play classical, contemporary or noise/improv, but sometimes also play more conventional stuff (Folk, blues, jazz, etc).

Besides this I occupy most of my time by reading, writing, watching movies, walking around, training, thinking about and creating history and culture and being involved in various political activities.

When it comes to traveling I have a certain distaste for "tourism" (in the commercial sense). I find using a day or two to see the main tourist spectacles of a city from a tourist bus, or through the eyes of a tourist company trying to make money on you, a bit boring, and in worst case alienating. Therefore I find CS a really good idea for a way of traveling: meeting locals and staying with them, being able to see the city more from their point of view, getting to experience some of the small thing that really constitutes a city, getting to know more about the culture and perhaps training you language skills at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that I've found fantastic about Berlin is the vast amount of history you can find in the cityscape. Now, I think you find a lot of history in almost any place, but here it's so evident around you, and so many major events and historical turning points have left it's trace here. You just have to dig it up. I really like exploring the hidden and off-boundary sides of the city, tracing the history and finding small untouched pockets of distant times. Here in Berlin high points have been stumbling over the remains of an old DDR car workshop - with two rusting remains of what looked like Trabis - and discovering and walking along old, overgrown railroad tracks stemming from what used to be the world largest rail road station - Anhalter Bahnhof - in the middle of the city.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to play both ukulele and guitar, and have also had some experience in teaching, so that might be one thing. I would be willing to help anyone who for some strange reason would like to learn Norwegian, and probably know above average about Norwegian culture, climate, politics, language, history, etc. I do parkour from time to time. If you're a beginner I might be able to give you a few pointers, if not I don't think I can help to much. But I would go training with you!

Open for learning about most things... I think at least.
